Did anyone here try bouncing on an exercise ball to induce labor? If so, did it work? What exactly is its purpose, how does it help to induce labor?

I hear that the "purpose" of the yoga/exercise/birthing ball for labor (this is from what I remember from my pregnancy book) is to help baby engage in the pelvis, and then let his/her head irritate the cervix (thereby producing prostaglandins, just like sex or nipple stimulation or sweeping your membranes, and starting labor.)

Long walks supposedly help, too, just like sex! There are some accupressure points you can try (apparently there is one on the roof of your mouth that you can activate by sucking on a lollipop... Worst case scenario, you get a guilt free lollipop out of it! LOL), some people say pineapple works, and there are some that say a glass of wine may be just the thing (with dinner, ONLY one glass, stay hydrated, etc.)

Hope the bouncy ball does the trick, I wanna meet your LO!
