Does your baby like pacifiers, if so what kind??

If your baby isn't here yet, do you plan on letting them have a paci?

She likes the gerber nuks. I didn't want to introduce a paci but dh wouldn't quit offering. She hated the binky and would take the soothie but constantly spit it out.

He used Soothie in the nicu and the first few weeks at home. I like that they are all one piece, but he couldnt keep them in his mouth on his own. We tried nuk and he couldnt do those either then we tried Mam and he can hold onto em so its what we're sticking with

She was giving a soothie in the NICU...so we have stayed with those...however, she doesn't necessarily like them...it's just enough to pacify her (lol) till the bottle of Breast Milk is heated...she does get frustrated because she realizes nothing comes out of them. She has taken it a couple of times just to suck, but isn't really into it.

DS took a Nuk a bit but then sucked the most on a Soothie. But he still wasn't a pro at keeping it in, so he wasn't totally interested since he couldn't keep it in.

If the next baby seems to be interested in sucking constantly and using me as a pacifier then I'll offer him one. I got some newborn soothies just incase.

We are using the Gerber Nuks...Jack likes his sucky a lot. He only gets it at naps/bedtime though. Interesting, I was using a Soothie at first and my dentist told me that the nipple on Soothies isn't good for babies, something to do with their forming palate.

If the baby wants a soother, we won't deny it. But we will limit the use.

We were against using a Pacifer cause its said to interfer with BF. But he wouldn't stop looking to "suck" even after he is full, lol. so we gave in and he loves it. He usually only uses it after he eats and bedtime, and we plan to take it away when he turns 5-6 months old. We use the MAM brand..tried other ones, but he LOVES the mam brand compared to anything else.. totally recommend that brand!! go to
MAM Baby Products - Design & Innovation - BPA-free to check the info on it .

She will take one occasionally (she very much prefers to use me though lol) - only the MAM ones.

When she was a newb she liked the Gumdrop ones (made be Soothie - just not an obnoxious circle).

Josie takes a Soothie, but it drops out a lot, maybe we should try others. She loves to suck on stuff!

I registered for several different kinds and i will give a pacifier if he wants one. My brother and I used Nuks and my sister liked MAMs...a friend of mine who has a 5 month old couldn't get him to take anything until recently when his brother stuck a latex mam in his mouth and she was thrilled to pieces b/c they only things that would calm him and curb his urge to suck was to eat (EBF)...so finding a paci he would use was thrilling for her!!

Nikolas took a soother straight away - he likes to sooth on something. He's EBF and it does not interfere with his eating at all. He's pretty much good on any but his favourite is the GumDrop. I ordered them straight from Hawaii Medical's Gumdrop Pacifier. Very reasonably priced

Addison got the Gumdrop in the hospital and wouldn't take any of the other brands I bought while I was pregnant.....so she's still using the Soothies.

Lexi would take a soothie a little bit when she was a newborn, but she really doesn't like them. Now she doesn't really take it at all. We tried one other brand that came free with bottles we bought(I think mam brand?) and she doesn't like it either. She only likes the latex nipples with her bottle as well, so I think that's why she doesn't take them. I'm glad she doesn't like them though because I didn't really want to give them to her, but wouldn't deny if she wanted it. She's actually not much of a sucker, but if she does want to she will either comfort nurse or occasionally she sucks on the back of her hand.

Camden took one a few times when he was "little" but never really cared for them. We used the ones where you could see their mouth through the nipple part.

Camden hates them. all of them. period. LOL. We've got him to take one a few times but it takes a lot of work and then he always spit it out after about a minute so i gave up. ha ha. I'm not against them like i used to be obviously, but i do think it's ridiculous when i see kids who are like 2-3 still using them.
