B emails me today and says i need you to get this form filled out sometime, maybe at your next appt if you can. OK, fine. So i look at it...they want this form filled out for a corporate wellness program with cholesterol, glucose,triglycerides...okay fine.

THEN they ask for weight, waist measurement, height and BP. Don't you think its a little unfair to ask someone who is 6 months pregnant for their weight and waist measurement...not to mention grossly inaccurate. So i'm like, figure out what we need to do about this or i'm emailing the chick in charge to find out.

Now i'm all pissed off about somethign that shouldn't matter. I have had several things of blood work done and i believe i will be having another one this next appt, so i can get that info no problem...the rest of it they're just gonna have to deal with or take old info.

Pfft... That is like when DH and I were engaged, and we tried to add me to his medical benefits. They wanted a date, time, and reason for every single doctor's appointment over the last FIVE YEARS. Umm, I had been in a car accident, had two infections, and been dealing with fertility issues - do you really think I know all this crap, especially since that was after my doctor DIED and my records went missing? We just waited until we got married, then there was only one form and it was no big deal.

Totally ridiculous... Hopefully B can get it sorted out, I wouldn't fill it out either! You'd end up with higher insurance rates or something for being obese, when you're a perfectly healthy body weight for a woman who is six months pregnant!

It doesn't look to me like i HAVE to do it...but he seems to think i do, or I at least need a Dr's note saying i'm pregnant. Its not actually for insurance, i think its for his actual employer...its part of this employee wellness program.

It says missing/late information will affect participation in the program. They apparently wanted me to come get their physical on Thursday and he told them no. He says they're having presentations about it this week so hopefully he can find out more info, but if not i'll just email the lady in charge of the program and see what she thinks i ought to do.

Cheryl, that was my point exactly. I'm gonna look obese on paper when in reality i'm a healthy pregnant woman...with a 40something inch waist!! lol

We had a similar employee wellness program at our job too. Actually they were giving out $75 gift cards for filling out the info. It's pretty much a wellness program where you give them your starting stats, then you get a giftcard for it, then you set goal and in a set amount of time they remeasure and you get another giftcard for meeting your goals or whatever. At least that's what it was at our job. I was pregnant at the time too, but was going to do the checkup (the job did it for us) but then I went out on bedrest so I didn't do it. I don't think its anything mandatory though, probably your just get a bonus for doing it. I'm sure giving your pre-pg info would be fine.

I know you will, but saying this just in case. Check carefully because my friend went through this with her husbands work. They said it was for a "wellness program" but it turned out that if you didn't fit the criteria (a.k.a. high blood pressure, obesity, etc.) that they used that to keep you off of the company's insurance. So if they need a doctor's note, get them a doctor's note.

^^ That's what I'd be worried about most... But if it doesn't have any effect on your insurance at all, and you get bonuses for meeting health milestones like Carla's work did, I'd say go nuts and enter your real measurements now - then set a goal to lose 10 lbs and go down 3 inches in your waist, say, 3 months PP. You'll get a killer bonus out of it

as far as i can tell its an incentive program. Its run by a private clinic in our area so i really doubt it has to do with the actual insurance company but i'm waiting to find out for sure of course. His work knows i'm pregnant so that shouldnt' be a surprise. He said they want to give everyone free gym memberships though so i'd be cool with that!
