I know some of you ladies had a lot of spotting early on...I have a question for you.

I just started having some tan discharge today - only twice, and no red blood. Very small amounts each time. I am worried that it's old blood. I am not crampy at all (just gassy).

I have my first appointment with my midwife in just over a week. Should I see someone sooner, or just wait it out as long as it's not bloody and I'm not cramping?

What they told me when i thought i was having a m/c was that that IF you are... there is nothing they can do so besides easing your mind theres really no real "point" in rushing in for an appointment. I'm sure you're fine if its dark blood and you arent crampy... with my m/c it was bright bright bright, there was a TON of blood and i felt like the worst period cramps ever

I had some random spots throughout my pg... tan is good though - not red
I think you should just wait until your appt unless it will reassure you.

I say take it easy for a couple of days but no need to rush in. Like Sam said there is nothing they can do for you IF you are miscarrying except tell you that you are... or tell you that things are fine. If they say things are "fine" it means nothing - i got the all clear early on in my first pregnancy after an ultrasound confirmed a heartbeat and I miscarried less than 3 days later. So that will not reassure you much. Unfortunately I have been through this a few times so if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

What you should be reassured by is that you do not have any cramping and the spotting is very minimal (not red, light, etc). It likely is old blood that could still be leftover from implantation or just from an irritated cervix.

I would wait. I had a lot of bright red bleeding with my pregnancy and luckily Marina turned out just fine. Your cervix is so much more sensitive during pregnancy and things like DTD or exams can make you bleed/spot. If you start to cramp or have bright red bleeding I would go in though. I know how hard it is not to worry, but try to relax and enjoy being preggo. KUP on your appointment though!

Thanks! I haven't had any more since yesterday, so I'm just going to try to forget about it.

I had the same thing and was freaking out. The doctor told me to put my feet up and take it easy for a while and drink plenty of fluids. So I did that I still had some days with the tan discharge but it cleared up. They thought it was the twin that we lost as the other baby was growing. When I ended up with the tan spotting again it had an odor to it and turned out I had a bacteria infection. So take it easy drink your fluids and wait for your appointment. Let your midwife know if you get any crampy feelings or if the flow changes intensity of color.

I had tons of unexplained spotting in the first trimester. Every time I thought it would stop it started up again. Now I have a healthy 6 month old! So, try not to worry. Definently don't google it (that was the worst thing I did!). Just know that tan discharge and only a little bit is usually fine. I even had period like cramps. Try to remember that cramping is also a sign of a growing baby in early pregnancy.

I too had 2 episodes of tan spotting. I know how hard it is to want answers and wait, but since it's not red, I would try to take comfort in that (easier said than done right!). Thinking of you regardless!
