What kind of diapers are you using or will you be using? My bff is wanting to slowly buy diapers for the diaper cake she is making and wants to know which brand i will be using. I guess it's between pampers and huggies... and frankly i'm leaning towards huggies because i don't like saying the word pampers so i wanted to take a poll to see what you use/ or will use. Also if you don't mind writing a blurb about why that would be awesome! Thanks ladies!!!
ok i messed up doing the poll and i don't know how to go back and add it... so just let me know what you think!

We've used Pampers Swaddlers from the start... thats what they used in the NICU so we figured it worked for him why mess with it. We tried Target brand because we'de heard they were just as good as brand names but he had SEVERAL incidences where he almost poo'ed out the sides... perhaps it was a fluke but we went back to Pampers and have been fine ever since. Plus, Tatget's just felt really rough to me... Pampers are really soft.
I'm not sure what we'll do when he's too big for Swaddlers. We might try Pampers but who knows...

We use huggies and 7th generation. The reason I do not like pampers is because they are heavily fragranced...even their sensitive ones. Also, they have the new dry-max which people claim are giving their children severe rashes...the thing that gets me most about this is that because of the number of complaints a federal agency is investigating. I've heard alot of people say that the drymax doesn't seem to be as absorbent and has leaked. And lastly, pampers were the only diapers that Julie had blow-outs in.

We're going with Huggies because of the whole dry max thing going on with Pampers. We just didn't want to worry about it.

We use Luvs because Josie had more blowouts in the huggies and pampers. She has far fewer in the luvs, something about the way they fit around the legs, especially. We do still have the occasional blowout, so we may keep trying different brands, but luvs are the best for Josie so far.

We have tried pampers, luvs, and huggies (this is what they used in the hospital). The luvs and huggies gave Eli a blister around his peepee. We switched back to pampers swaddlers and now dry max/cruisers. We have the very occasional blow out but overall we are happy with them. I had liked the huggies though until the blister.

I prefer pampers over huggies, just because I don't like the cut of huggies. Lilyan has used walgreens brand, targets, krogers brand, pampers, huggies, and luvs and does great with all of them. If we are buying the diapers, we buy the cheapest brand....probably luvs over target brand though, for us, target's brand runs really big.

thanks for all the advice ladies!!! So what i'm gathering here is that I don't need to stick with just one brand?! I was under the impression i had to pick one... but i guess we'll try out the swaddlers first (since so many of you have used them) and then we'll go from there I suppose. As far as the diaper cake, I'll just tell my friend to get huggies for now i guess! Thanks again!

we started out in pampers but that was before dry max was put in...once they added the dry max, I switched to Luvs and have seriously LOVED them! never had a blow out, never had a leak! I recommend luvs

I love Pampers...the swaddlers were the absolute best and I particularly love the little yellow line that turns blue when they are wet...really helps in the beginning. We have tried huggies and Target brand. Target was ok, but they just aren't soft and were hard to tell when she was wet. So we went back to Pampers, but I definitely wouldn't recommend the dry max ones. Paige got redness from it and she itched constantly so we are just on Pampers cruisers now. You definitely don't have to stick with one brand...just try them all and see what you like!

the swaddlers w/dry max no longer have the wetness indicator. The sensitive ones do. Drymax is not in the sensitve size 1 & 2 but they have it starting in size 3's.
just in case anyone wanted to know.

I dont like Huggies, Pampers worked well but he got diaper rash...we are in seventh generation - he's had a few blowouts, but I blame that on HUGE poos - LOL! not the diapers but he hasnt had any diaper rash since we started with them, and my husband isnt the best at changing the diaper very often...oh, and I've never even had to use diaper rash cream with them...

We've used pampers and huggies and I like the pampers better. They are softer and thinner. I've used the swaddlers, sensitives, ones with drymax and ones without and have never had any problems. Lexi has never had a single diaper rash or any redness whatsoever. I just didn't like how rough and bulky the huggies were. She's had the occasional blowout in both brands, but they're so few and far between I think it just happens to be an extra large poo!

We used Pampers Swaddlers to start and now we use Pampers Baby Dry. I've tried Target, Luvs and Huggies and I prefer the Baby Dry. The Luvs were a close second though.

Even though we are going to be cloth diapering later on, i'm probably going to start out with the pampers swaddlers just because I heard they are good to have from friends. I also have the walmart brand from whenever I did baby wreaths which I might try out.

We primarily use cloth but for disposables I LOVE the Kirkland (Costco) brand. We used pampers as a newborn but they gave Connor a rash so we switched to Huggies. The Huggies we okay but not as soft as the pampers. Then we tried the Costco diapers. They are shaped like and as soft as the pampers but didn't give Connor the rash I would highly recommend trying them out.

I have loved my Pampers Swaddlers! The newborn ones have the little wet line indicator. We're just heading into size 3s and are going into the Pampers Cruisers. Nikolas has had some serious poops lately though - we are going to buy a pack of Huggies and then will be back in our Pampers.

Also - we were using Huggies wipes - but they gave Nikolas a rash. Stopped using them and back on Pampers wipes - not one rash since!

Cloth!!! Love love love cloth, in fact, every time I have to use a disposable, I remember how much I hate diposables. They smell funny LOL
We started with two packages of Huggies Pure n Natural, which we liked, and that got us through the meconium stage - then we switched to cloth. Izzy is now in size 1 disposables and we got a whole bunch for the baby shower (two packages) so we decided to use them up, and they're Pampers - but I don't like them. If Izzy poops right when she falls asleep, and sleeps for a few hours, the mesh inside of them sticks to her little bum! I don't like that.
I'd say definitely look into cloth, there are more advantages than just the cost savings. I actually like them better, and find them easier! And you never run out, either!
