We're going on Camden's 1st airplane trip in 2 weeks! On overnight trips he sleeps in a pack n' play. I thought I could fit it in my largest suitcase, but I can't. He doesn't sleep well at ALL in bed with us, so co-sleeping isn't an option. I thought about maybe trying to find one on Craigslist in the state we're visiting, but that may be a hassle. Any other ideas, I'm not thinking of ladies? ThX!

you can check it in as a piece of luggage. Maybe you can make one of your bags as a carry on to do that?
Some hotels have cribs you can rent (if you are staying at a hotel). Just bring your own sheets, blankets, etc.

Is it a vacation? Or will you be meeting friends or family? If you are meeting friends or family maybe they can find someone to borrow one from. Otherwise I agree with checking the pack n play as luggage. Have fun!

HAHA yes, I really don't think "pregnancy brain" ever goes away after a baby. It just turns into "lack of sleep brain"!!!!

Sounds like you have it figured out. I would check the play pen thing too though if you are staying at a hotel or something. I know when we go to Florida in February the Villa has a crib for Rayanne, I just have to let them know that I need one.

You might just want to be aware though - when carseats and pack and plays (and stuff like that) get checked you always have the potential for it to get pretty banged up. Dh used to be a luggage guy at the airport and says that no matter how careful the luggage guys are the sorting machines and stuff are pretty rough on stuff.
We're having the same issue trying to figure out what to do when we take a trip to FL next year...

Yeah that's a very good point. Now, my brother in laws ex GF has a Pack n' play for us to borrow!!! So that solves that problem, buuut we still have to check the carseat. Camden has outgrown the infant seat, so we have the larger Graco 65lb. I'm going to wrap it up REALLY good, and hope they are somewhat careful.

are you getting a seat for Camden or is he going to be on your lap? If he is getting his own seat you can use your carseat on the plane. This will help alleviate any chances of it getting banged up. OR you could buy the costco carseat that is less than $50 to take.
Just a thought!

He is just going to ride on our lap since it's a rather short flight (2 hrs) Does the Costco one fit a baby over 22lbs? Thx!!

it's a convertible car seat, not an infant carrier, so yes it does Walmart has them on sale right now for $39.

I would like the PP said I would bring the car seat through security. If you gate check it they put it in the front cargo hold to be taken off first. Atleast in the smaller regional jets.

I haven't used one of these but I've heard good things about them:
Eddie Bauer Infant Travel Bed : Target
Looks like it would be pretty portable and it's cheap.
I thought I'd share even though it looks like you found a solution already
