I've only gained 20 lbs so i'm feeling great about that but i am anxious to get back in shape once Tyler gets here. I guess i've been afraid all along that i'd be one of those moms who looks okay before she got pregnant and then just gives up/can't lose weight after her kids. Anyone else have this or feel like they're going to?? A friend of mine is actually thinner when she's pregnant than when she's not and it totally scares me that I may not be able to lose those baby lbs! I'm not expecting to look perfect, i mean i had a pooch before but i would actually like to use this as an excuse to be in better shape for my baby!

Am I crazy?!

It's certainly a concern for me. It took me a while to loose 20 of the pounds I gained during college. I told DH I'm rejoining Weight Watchers 6 weeks post-postpartum. I'm not expecting to look exactly the same - but I also want to be a good role model for mini-keg.

I am with you Kate. I am not really worried about "bouncing back" but I was just getting myself in shape before we got pregnant so I am anxious to get back to running and working out because I felt good doing it.

I'm one of those working on it now. Unfortunately, when I had Julie...my weight didn't come right off. And those people telling me that the placenta weighs x amount, fluid x, baby x therefore once you have her you will lose it all - well I guess I was the anomoly because I didn't loose a lot of weight after having her.

I have been running since 3w6d and I am still not in my prepregnancy clothes. I just joined a bootcamp to try and help because I'm not doing something right.

I'm still working on losing the pregnancy weight after almost 9 months Granted, I gained 50lbs (I was very skinny when I got preggo) but I couldn't get past the initial 10lbs after Eli was born. Since I stopped breastfeeding, I am now down 35 lbs total with 15lbs more to go. I'd like to lose at least 10lbs before I start TTC #2. It would be nice to just briefly fit into all my old clothes again!

Kate, this is a perfectly legit concern. It's tough and let me say that you are awesome for only gaining 20lbs this far. I gained 46lbs during my pregnancy and by 5 months pp I was SMALLER than I was before. Now, I had to literally work my butt off, but it has so changed my life. I can repost my before and after pics if you want or everyone should check out Hitchfit by Micah LaCerte, Online Personal Trainer and Life Coach. Find out how our Online Personal Training and Nutrition program can help you! After Paige, I hired a personal trainer and seriously learned how to eat right and have been ever since. I was pushed harder than I ever knew I could. It was hard hard work but sooooo worth it. A year later I'm even a few lbs LIGHTER than when I stopped working out with him!!!! It's very very possible, but you have to be serious about it and you have GOT to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet!!! Feel free to PM me for any suggestions or motivation. Getting people healthy has truly become my passion!

Kate I am anxious about this too. Especially because my mom, who had three children, is one of those moms who after every pregnancy had some permanent weight that she put on. Now 18 years later she is still fighting a weight battle and I just don't want to end up in that situation. There are so many things she wants to be able to do but can't because of her weight.

my mom lost it all and then some after my brother and I, it was my sister that did her in and it took her 5 years to lose it. I think a big part of my concern is social...i don't want people looking at me and thinking, well having kids was certainly hard on her. You know? I don't want anyone thinking i'm rushing to lose every ounce b/c like Michelle, i just like feeling good. I have battled weight my whole life and when i got pregnant was i was comfortable with my appearance while doign relatively nothing. So i know if i worked at it i could be smaller than i was before i got pregnant. I needed to lose 10-15 lbs anyway so hopefully it can happen. I also don't want to have a three year old and be blaming my muffin top on my "baby" weight...b/c baby won't be a baby anymore at that point. Nice to know i'm not alone and we're all gonna work on this together!

Gwen you are def an inspiration. I remember your pics and you do look AWESOME which is very very motivational!!!!

Lee Ann, i LOVED bootcamp. I think you'll really enjoy it and even if the pounds dont' fly off you'll def see some fat loss and toning which i think is impt after having baby when everything gets displaced.

I have been trying really hard to lose the baby weight myself. I had lost weight before I got pregnant and then gained 50lbs during my pregnancy. I have lost 39lbs so far but want to lose at least more lbs. My main problem is finding time to work out. I've been walking Marina in the stroller for about an hour a day plus dancing in the living room during her nap time, but I would love to have time to actually use the treadmill I bought. I think you'll do great at losing the weight. Motivation is half the battle, lol!

I gained about 35 lbs and within 10 days pp I lost 28 lbs....I thought the rest would be easy....wrong! After that initial weight loss I gained 5 lbs back and have since been fighting those same 5 lbs plus the 15 lbs I want to lose. You may have to work to get the weight off and to get tight again, but it will come. I can already see a difference in toning. I worked out my entire pregnancy too, walking 5 times a week and doing weights 3-4 times a week. I dont have as much time now and I dont have the money to join a gym, so the time I do spend working out is not as mmuch as I would like but its better than nothing and is making a difference. It was too warm to walk Lilyan outside after I had her, so we are just now starting to walk in the evenings as its cooling off. It will be nice a cool once you have Tyler, so you should be able to get outside and walk around with him shortly after.

I gained 28 pounds total, and the first 20 fell off within the first 2 weeks...the last 8 were hard, but I've lost that + 3 pounds by 6 months PP...what did it for me was signing up for a gym that has inhouse daycare - you can get 2 hours of free daycare there per day...its great motivation for actually getting to the gym and working out...I'd say try to find one of those if you have one near you...

but eating right is really important too, and I'd say do whatever Gwen says for that one cause she is definitely an inspiration for all of us

I gained 25lbs during my pregnancy and lost 19lbs within the first few weeks. Now I'm at +15lbs from my pre-preg and I'm struggling to get it off..mostly because I don't have the time for the gym!

I'm joining a gym near me with my sister so we can motivate each other and just go to a bootcamp class twice a week. That will definitely help!!

don't stress too much about it. Some people it can take an entire year to get back to your old body. That seems to be my case

Awe, thanks so much Tonya and Kate. You girls are too nice. I am honored to be an inspiration to anyone so thanks! Yes, it's so hard and I understand all of the concerns you girls are talking about. It's hard to find time, but I promise if you do you will feel sooooo much better and be a better mom, wife and person! The diet part is HUGE and I can't stress that enough. I'm interested to see how I will do with the next pregnancy and weight gain. I'd love to say that I won't gain that much but you never know how you will feel. Also, I've found that even if you lose the weight after pregnancy you still may not fit in your clothes becuase your body just changes so much. So lifting weights is key to getting a toned body back. I'm totally here for you girls.

girls i love that idea!!

I have lost 40 lbs a couple of times in my life (once when i was 15, and then again after college and a depressing bank job). so my poor body has been there done that. I am really hoping i can find the magic key for me after the boy gets here. In the mean time at least i know what needs to happen.

i'm just now getting close to the heaviest i've ever been, at least this time i'm prego!

Its certainly a valid concern! I lost all the baby weight by 6 weeks PP, then started birth control at 8 weeks PP and gained the usual 5-10 lbs that BC ALWAYS seems to do to me! I started doing the 30 day shred (by Jullian Michaels) Sept 1st and have been feeling great! For me, weight wise I was fine, I just wasn't happy with the lack of tone and shape. The 30 day shred is only a bit over 20 minutes and is HARD, but I can easily fit in 20 minutes and the way I feel afterwards (well besides the super soreness!) is so worth it! I've already lost 4 inches around the waist and about an inch or so everywhere else (aside from the bust since I'm BFing and that just isn't going anywhere right now!) I've always been a fit person but this workout is working out areas I've never thought to tone. It can be done it just takes motivation. If you're motivated you can do it!

Now can someone please please please tell me the secret to getting rid of the saggy skin on the lower part of the belly?! Please tell me this skin eventually gets tight again or something!!!
