hehe Kate i was just catching up on Jessica's journal and all that decorating advice you were giving her made me think to ask you and everyone else's opinion.

Ok so i have a problem... babys room doesn't have a closet!!! The bonehead who built my house clearly wasn't thinking straight when he made this huge room with no closet! What should i do?? Should i just get a huge dresser? Bc i want to be able to hang some things you know? you can barely see all your clothes when they're jammed in a drawer! Do i just get a closet organizer but put it against the wall? Armoirs are so expensive and don't offer that much space you know? Although, IKEA may not be a bad place to look since it's cheap and always unique? Ugh what to do?? Even if i get a regular sized dresser i'm worried it won't be enough space you know?

What would you do?

hahaha i feel SOOOOOOO honored...i really just have a shopping problem!!

I think i'd look into an amoire as an investment piece although most of Tyler's stuff is in his dresser and a plastic rubbermaid thing with drawers.

This is kinda fun, its from IKEA and i believe it said it was listed for $40. A couple of those would be cool and very girly IMO.

The other thing i got was those cube things from closetmaid and they're relatively cheap (again around $40) and you can by the coordinating colored fabric bins. I have some of his stuff stored in there as well. Do you have a hall closet you can store some of her stuff in? Could you take some pics of her room so we can get an idea.....

For my nephew's room my SIL got a shorter dresser she's going to use as the changing table with the hutch to go over it and then another dresser that's just a 4 drawer stand up...his room is roughly the same size as Tyler's maybe smaller but the furniture looks good. Its all about how you position things as well...any idea on what your theme is gonna be or anything like that?!

PS, i LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE your siggy!

I think you should look into the armoire type thing. I know when I was in university one of the places I lived didn't have a closet and I found a pretty cheap one at IKEA I believe. You could also "make" a closet with closet maid organizer stuff. I know you can get shelves that would serve as a closet rod (probably even get rods with them) that attach to the wall using brackets.

Closet -- check out what ClosetMaid can do for your Closet check out what they have available. I am sure you will find something.

We have a closet but don't like how it is arranged (waste of a lot of useful space) so we are reorganizing it with closet maid items.

I'll take pics when i get home from work! It's a nice sized room, painted a lavender/purple color. Thank god we're having a girl and no repainting is needed! And no, there is no hall closet or anything boooooooo! again, stupid builders! I really really like that thing you posted a pic of! See!? that is exactly why i called your attention to my probleM! i knew you'd have a great idea! Well i registered last week so we have a theme! Honestly, i was worried tho! I don't want a pink room. esp since the walls are purple. There isn't much purple at BRU that isn't like overwhelmingly purple. The walls are enough, i just wanted a little purple with mostly green or yellow but i didn't find it. However! I found a purple jungle theme!!!I love the jungle theme but the green one is too boyish for me you know? So i was thrilled when we found one there! On top of that we'll add lots of monkey stuff and a nice green to take away from the purple.

CoCaLo Jacana 6-Piece Crib Bedding Set - Cocalo - Babies "R" Us

there is fun wall decor to go with it, lions, monkeys and giraffes. i'm soo excited!!!

ugh did i mention one slight problem... the walls are slanted!! the only 2 walls that aren't slanted have a window or a door so it's limited room. :/

I would go with an armoire, unless you know a carpenter who can custom build you something to go in your space.

awwww very cute stuff!! I'll keep looking, i had a few other thoughts but i want to see your room first. That armoire thing would be cool b/c its kinda safari like with the white curtains...hmmmm. Have you picked furniture yet?

I'm with michelle, i LOVE closetmaid stuff. WE have a lot of it. It cheap so you can buy a ton of pieces. I have a cabinet in my kitchen, a cabinet and 2 drawers in my laundry room, and then the 8 cube thing in tyler's room... and it can be attached to the wall which is nice...plus you can always cover stuff with curtains and create a "closet like" feel.

I'm holding out for pics!

Hey Jess, what about something like this? Amazon.com: 4Gr8 Kidz Jungle Series Kids Wooden Dress Up Organizer w/Mirror: Toys & Games

It could be painted to match and it's not super tall so you should be able to put it against any wall in the room.
