So I had an u/s appointment today, followed by my weekly doctor appointment.

At the u/s, she was measuring a few weeks ahead (as she has been doing most this pregnancy). But more concerning was her belly was measuring bigger than the rest and she is also over 7lbs!! I'm 35w5d. After seeing this, the u/s tech had the perinatologist doctor come in and look and talk to us. He did say the belly was big, and they are a little concern because if it is bigger than the head, the baby could get stuck in the birth canal during labor. But he said other than that is shouldn't mean anything. He said it is more typical in those that have GD, which I was tested for and did not have. Also he said he would be worried about me being able to deliver a baby 9lbs or bigger. He said the next step is have me go back in 3 weeks for another u/s, if I make it that long!

I then met with my doctor and told her what the perinatologist told us to tell her (since there wasn't time for her to get the report from them yet). She said if after looking at his report today, if she thinks anything different then she would let me know. She said she that if I haven't gone into labor by 38 weeks then they may schedule a csection for 39 or 40 weeks, just so we have it scheduled and have it scheduled for a morning time. According to both the doctors, their practice is not to induce unless really neccesary. This appointment was my first cervical check and I was over 1cm dialated and 50% effaced.

I did get some 3d shots at the u/s, will try to scan them and post them tomorrow!

Wow I hope everything works out! And hopefully you don't need the c-section!

Ultrasound isnŽt as accurate as they like to think!!
At 34 weeks I was told DD would be 9lbs + as she was already over 7lbs. They measured and re-measured and said that at 40 weeks weŽd induce. She arrived on her own at 39+4 and weighed a whopping 6lb 3oz. They were measuring her abdomen around the cord too (she had it wrapped tightly around her shoulders and torso) and calculating from that.

I hope your baby is a healthy weight for you to deliver and comes in her own time.

The day Bella was born I had an ultrasound that morning...she said she measured over 7lbs. She was 5lbs 14oz. So it can definitely be off. I hope you can go naturally and all is okay

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words! I booked my next u/s for 10/11, when i'll be 38w5d. I'm just hoping that we'll do what is best for our baby to have a safe delivery!
