Well I had my 22 week appointment today. Things went alright. I finally met the 3rd midwife in the practice. I gained .05 pounds, so at least that went up and not down. Baby Boy's heartrate was 150 which is great and I got a schedule for my hospital tour and birth classes too. Only bad thing was we went over my anatomy scan results and it showed a slightly dilated left kidney. She told me not too worry about it at all and that the way he was laying is probably what caused it. But seriously, how do you not worry? Has anyone ever heard of this?

I go back for an ultrasound again around 30 weeks to make sure it has corrected itself. So the good news is I get to see my little man again! The bad news is I have that long to freak out about it!

IDK about that, and if she seems unconcerned that's a good sign. I know a lot of things come up at anatomy scans that are often nothing. But you know i'm not gonna say anything about you freaking out. I'm the queen of freaking out!! I am sure everything is fine, but fingers crossed anyway!

I"m not sure if its the same thing... but Michael (who was born at 25 weeks), was born with a dilated kidney. They said usually it resolves and works itself out before birth but since he was born early his didnt have time... I honestly wouldnt stress about it (of course its hard, obviously but...)

I guess i'm saying IF your LO does end up having one its never caused Michael an issue, he just took antibiotics to make sure he didnt get a bladder infection and other then that you wouldnt have known he had anything "wrong" with him. He had it checked back in August and everything is fine now that his body had time to grow and everything "worked itself out"

I've never heard of it so I can't really give and advice but am keeping my fingers crossed everything is okay. I agree with Kate, I would think if it was something to freak out over she would have been more concerned.

I can ask one of the pediatricians that work in the hospital Alicia... hopefully it won't be too busy tomorrow.

I have never heard of that but it sounds like the lady said the way he was laying. I would try and not worry and don't look at Doctor Google lol!

How the heck can you not worry?! Ha. I will say though that if it were a major concern they would call you in immediately for more testing. The fact that they are waiting until 30 weeks is a sign that it's likely to resolve.

I think if your Dr. isn't too worried then you shouldn't be either. Lots can happen in the next 8 weeks.
