Update from today. I am still not dialated anymore than the 1cm I was on Friday (no surprise there). My doctor still thinks it is possible for us to try this vaginally so we are being induced on Thursday (using cervidil). I have no idea what the plan will be beyond cervidil (whether we try anything else or go to the section if cervidil is not doing much) but at this point that is going to be up to the doctors. Based on the baby's size she figured if we wait too long the chances of vaginal birth will be drastically reduced but she wants to wait a couple more days to see if my body will get this show started on its own. Either way we are looking at having this baby before the weekend.
************************************************** **************
Baby L continues to be a BIG baby. Today the ultrasound weight was 10lbs 7 oz. I know that can be wrong. Both the ultrasound tech and my doctor said it can be off by 1lbs either way - so baby could be 9.5 - 11.5 lbs. No matter which way they are off (if they are off) this will be one big baby. But everything looks healthy (including my "beautiful" placenta - the words of the ultrasound tech).
So we checked my progress and I am 1cm dialated and at station -2. Not much progress but some. So then we discussed a delivery plan. Because baby is so big a c-section can be scheduled and my doctor made it sound like it will be our choice if we wanted to schedule one. I told her I wanted whatever was going to get this baby here safely and was not opposed to a c-section nor was I ready to sign myself up for one. We discussed the options and our tentative plan is to wait until our next appointment (when I will be 39 weeks) before booking either an induction or a c-section but either would happen before my due date. We also discussed no forceps and no vacuum - doctor's orders. If I am going to have this baby vaginally it will be "on my own" and if I need assistance that assistance would be a c-section.
For now we know baby will not likely be here before next week and that we will make a more solid plan once we hit 39 weeks. I am happy with the current state of affairs - if I have made decent progress by next week's appointment I will be more convinced we can have this baby vaginally. If no real progress has been made we will likey schedule a c-section.

That is one big baby! I can't say I blame you if you opt for a c-section... you do what is best for you and your baby. It's just around the corner!!!!! YAY!!!

Sounds like you have a good plan in place and will be able to do what is best for the baby. Can't wait for your appointment next week, hopefully you'll make some more progress by then!!

Get out walking! I think that 10/10/10 would be such a cool birthday.
But seriously, I can't believe how much the baby has grown in such a short time. I've told the Progeny that 8lbs is big enough.

I can't believe your body is still holding on to that 10lber!! CRAZY. Baby L is gonna be like twice Tyler's size!!
Don't you feel like such a rockstar mama right now!? I'm really really impressed. I think i'd be a crazy lady about now! I just have to know what's gonna happen, but I think you're smart to wait out your options if you still can!

I have no idea how my body is still holding onto this big baby. But then again I am not the first or only person to have a big baby so maybe our bodies are just more amazing than we think.
Kim 10/10/10 would be a cool birthday but it does not look like it will happen today. However, I have lost at least some of my mucous plug today so perhaps things will get started on their own in the next couple days (although I know that this is not a great indication of labour it is the first real indication that my body is even getting ready for labour).
