So the placenta has moved, a bit. 5 weeks ago it was 0.5 cm from my cervix. Today it was 1.2 cm away. Not a huge shift, but it's getting there. The Dr. said that they will continue to monitor me via u/s every 2 weeks. He said that until it is 2 cm they like to keep an eye on it. But he also said that it usually only moves about 1 mm a week - so there is a chance that it may never reach 2 cm. At least I'm not on bed rest! I have a Dr. appointment on Tuesday and I will ask if I will need a c-section if the placenta doesn't move. So far they haven't said anything, but I'd like to be mentally prepared just in case.
The baby has grown and is approx. 1.2 kg in weight. A little small, but still normal and growing nicely. His HB was 163 bpm. We got to see him practice breathing and we also saw him blink a couple of times. He's not a morning person and I don't think that he was really awake yet. He would not move his arms away from his face the entire time. He's also already head down and would not move away from the cervix so she had a hard time getting a good view.
I posted a couple of pics on my blog. They aren't very good this time.

Glad you had a good appointment and that the placenta moved, even if not quite enough yet, you still have 10 weeks! And getting ultrasounds every other week till then will be good thing.

He really isn't. He'll give me a boot when I wake up to say "hit the snooze button" and then I rarely feel him again for a few hours. He's most active after 5 pm.

I'm so happy to hear your placenta moved Kim...and I'm glad you aren't on bed rest, but I do hope that you are still continuing to take it easy and that your DH is helping you out a lot. You do a lot of supervising. I think it's cute that he isn't a morning person...now to figure out where he gets that from.

YAY for the placenta moving! Hopfully it moves enough so that you don't need a c/s. Most u/s this far out aren't very good. I didn't even get pics at my 36w scan because she was so smushed you couldn't see anything. Especially when they are head down and facing the back like good little babies! lol

I agree with April, after about 28 weeks I didn't get good pics of Bella (and I was having frequent u/s) because she was head down and sooo smashed into my pelvic wall!
I hope you are able to have a vaginal delivery but if not, I'm with you on needing to be prepared!!

Kim, so glad you didn't have to go on bed rest. I hope the placenta keeps moving so you don't have to worry about a c/s.
