For anyone else out there that is or has been pregnant, did you wait to tell people. I mean like your parents and his and your friends... how long did you wait to spill the beans and let everyone know that you were expecting.

DH and I are going to wait until Christmas or until I can't hide it anymore . I'd like to wait until Christmas ideally because that will be 13-14 weeks and at a more safe time for the pregnancy... but I'm such a small frame and slender/muscular that I don't know if i can hide it that long (I'm 5'9" and 135lb).

besides baggy sweatshirts does anyone else have experience hiding a bundle?

We told everyone around 10-12 weeks. Easter was at 10 weeks, so we made Easter baskets for them and sent our grandparents that lived in other states cards. It was a fun way to tell everyone and by then we had confirmed that we had a baby in there. I told everyone else (friends etc) around 12-13 weeks. I could have hid it until...well i could probably still hide it! lol. You just never know what your body is gonna do!

With our first we never told anyone until after the m/c - and then only close famiy and friends. This time we told our parents right away because they knew we were doing IVF and I wanted them to at least have some time to celebrate the joy and not just mourn a loss if something went wrong early. We were going to wait at least until 15 weeks to tell everyone else , but my MIL blabbed to the world after our 12 week u/s so we had to tell others then. But it was getting harder to hide it by then too.

I would suggest to tell whenever you are comfortable.

We waited until after our NT ultrasound at 12&13 weeks (we had to have two), to tell everyone including parents. The ONLY two people that knew from the start were my best friend and dh's best friend

I'm currently 10 weeks 2 days and we've only told our families. We are waiting to tell most people until after my NT scan at 12.5 weeks.

Our parents were told right away cause dh had to tell them. We let it public at 10 weeks after the first u/s. I only told a few ppl...some people didn't even knoe until I was 30 something weeks cause I had no desire to share it. IMO it's my business.

With my first pregnancy, we told people right away, which made it that much harder when we lost Asher and Noah.

With Tres, we told DH's parents early (only because they were talking about loaning us money for the adoption, which we haulted when I got my ) I then told my parents, once we found out Tres didn't have a heart beat....a lot of people in our families don't know about Tres....

With Evan, we didn't tell anyone until 9 weeks, and then we slowly started to share the news Once again, it was SO HARD when we lost him, but I couldn't have survived that without the support of everyone.

With this pregnancy, we told DH's parents on Evan's EDD .....I wasn't going to tell my mom, but this past Tuesday when I went to the hospital because I thought I was miscarrying, I called her But I told her I'm not talking to her about it anymore. We won't make a big announcement until I get too big to hide it anymore (maybe 12-13 weeks?)

Its an optional ultrasound to check for abnormalities... for a lot of people its their first ultrasound. I believe its done between 11-13 weeks or about that time because they measure certain things on the baby to do the tests.

I had a lot of early ultrasounds because of a previous loss, but i loved seeing baby and since my insurance covered it i went ahead and got it done. A lot of people skip it because they dont want to stress out about the results that come back so early in the pregnancy if it comes back that the baby has increased risk for something (i forget what exactly it tests for, i think trisomy 18, trisomy 21 and downs???). I personally had to have mine twice because i had the most stubborn baby on the planet and he would not flip over so they could get the measurement they needed.
