So there was good news and bad news.

She is healthy...gaining weight, she has doubled her birth weight. The dr. looked at her ears, and hips and everything...including her eyes. And really, I shouldn't say it's bad news. It turns out, Rayanne has a lazy eye. The Dr. is referring us to a specialist, and they may just say that they are going to watch her for a little while, or she may have to wear and eye patch. He said the good thing is that he said they caught it super early, and it's not super bad, so if they do anything, they may just put a patch on her stong eye to try to strengthen her weaker eye. Has anyone had experience with lazy eyes??

Did you happen to notice it and mention something? Or is it so subtle you didn't even notice? Just more curius than anything.
Glad the appointment went well!!

We had sort of suspected that she had a lazy eye, but didn't know for sure. I never mentioned anything, the dr. was doing his check up of her eyes, and noticed that her eyes weren't quite focusing together. If you look at some of her pictures on FB I can now see that her left eye is kind of off in some of the pictures. I just hope that the patch will fix it, because of course, I take everything to the extreme when it comes to Rayanne. I get worried about everything. LOL...I'm sure she will be fine.

Oh yea, I wouldn't worry about a lazy eye (of course, I know the mommy in me would freak out too ebcause that's what we do best! ).

Glad they caught it early and it sounds like an easy fix. Hope she doesn't have to wear the patch too long. KUP on what the specialist says.
