Ditto the Baby Einstein...especially the baby signs one. Haylea likes Baby Signing Time MUCH better!

LOL, I got a slingling...probably he only thing I paid full price for cause I'd heard such good things about it... measured my torso and everything, and it was so uncomfortable and Kaiden hated it...

YAY April! I am glad she likes the Baby Signing Time video! Yeah the Einstein one was crap. LOL

A slinging? Stupid question, but I am assuming it is a baby carrier that is a sling? LOL

I got a super reduced sling. I think I used it twice and hated it both times...we have a couple baby einstein videos people gave us. Neither kid wants anything to do with them or any other tv/dvd program.

I think the most worthless thing we have is a bottle cage for the dishwasher. Only a couple bottles fit in it at a time. We went through way more bottles in a day than a few of those held. We also had a hard time fitting it in our dish washer. We tried packing bottles into it a couple times, gave up and never looked back. I have no idea where those ended up in the house.

We have a dishwasher basket that was totally a waste too!

We also didnt use -

ANY of his infant hats.... by the time he came home it was warm here, if he was born in cooler weather we probably would have used them

swing - didnt like it, but i think it is worth a try bec/ its a lifesaver for some

... i know there are more things but i can't think of them so i'll be back! Lol

For us - it was the infant hats AND the infant mittens. Nikolas would NOT have anything on his hands!

The only other thing right now is bottles... if you are going to try BFing - you may not need a)all those bottles and b) any bottles. Nikolas won't take a bottle, so we may not need any of them.

Definitely good to know about the baby einstein video's...

Hmmm...something that was a waste...I didn't pay for it, but the tummy time mat I got. I just do Tummy time on her regular play mat, or on a pillow on the floor...it's just easier to do the back time play time and the tummy time play time at the same time...and the back time mat (like the baby einsten one with the stuff that hangs off of it) works for both. Other than that, I haven't really found anything that was a waste...and really if we had a bigger house, having both of the mats would not be a big deal.

Receiving blankets, all of mine are practically brand new. Tori hated being swaddled and I used her regular blankets for covering as she was born in November so I needed something thicker than receiving blankets. I think I used them a couple of times for doctors appointment, something to lay her on while the doctor was checking her or something.

Pacifiers, Tori did not take them.

I would totally agree with the dishwasher baskets...I think we have like 3 of them taking up space in our cabinets right now...just useless. Paige can't sit still for anything so all of the videos we have are pointless...I know it's good, but sometimes for just like 5 minutes I would like her to sit there and be quiet!!!!

We rarely used receiving blankets either. She LOVED the miracle blanket so we just used that ALL THE TIME! We really only used the receiving blankets to roll up and help her head support in the infant carrier! Other than that, I think we used everything.

Yup, dishwasher baskets. We handwash and sterilizer the bottles and what not, then we put them on the dryer rack.
I also dont care for the boppy. I have rarely used it. I dont use burp clothes too much either.

I forgot about those. I found a diaper changer cover to be useless cause Julie pees and poops when we take her diaper off....I use the burp clothes to soak up the pee when she does that.

And cloth bibs too. I prefer the disposable.

Oh yeah, the boppy. I never really used it until she starting sitting up then I would put it behind her in case she tipped over! But the burp clothes were an absolute MUST for us. I think I had one permanently attached to my outfit like the first few months. She spit up A TON! So, I guess it just depends on the baby! I also preferred plain white cloth diapers for burp clothes!

The safety 1st kit thing with the thermometers and nasal aspirators and clippers and such. OMG I swear every single item I've used from the kit has been a piece of crap and I've had to buy a separate thermometer, medicine dispenser and nail clippers. Save your money and buy quality items you need separately. I tried to use 4 items and the other 16 haven't even touched.

Um, I totally agree. The brush it came with was so hard I was afraid I'd scalp her if I tried to use it, too.

We haven't touched that kit since the first day she was home.

We don't use bibs. I just tuck a burp cloth under her chin/neck when she's eating. If I do use a bib, it's to wipe off her chin or something, I never actually attach it to her neck.

She hates the swing so we never use that either.

Ditto the dishwasher racks. Handwashing is much more effective.

Bottles

Billy hated being in the bumbo. We would try to use it but he'd just scream. I think he made it 2 minutes top.

So interesting how much the list varies from baby to baby!

we LOVE the dishwasher baskets. We have a sterilizing setting on the dishwasher so it was perfect for us (our basket only held the parts to her bottles...the actual bottles just went on the top rack like a normal cup). We don't use it much now because she's mostly on sippys (still has a morning and night bottle).

I ditto the tummy time mat. Never used it! Otherwise she used everything else.

The sleep sacks. I hate them. When Lilah was 6 days old the elastic caught on her umbilical cord stump and nealy ripped it off. I was a hormonal wreck anyway, and the watching that stupid outfit pull on her just about put me over the edge.
