I'm sorry I'm not on JM as often - I'm reading but not replying. Last week I developed a new pregnancy symptom; carpal tunnel syndrome. Since my work requires that I use a computer and I also write a lot, my fingers sometimes go numb. So I've been avoiding excess computer use, and no crocheting right now either!

Anyways, back on topic, today I had my bi-weekly ultrasound to check on my placenta. DH couldn't come this time to I had to wait all by my lonesome! The Progeny is still resting right on top of my cervix so they had the perinatologist come in during my scan to move him. She pushed really, really hard on my belly to try to get him to move. As we know he's stubborn and so it took awhile. Finally they got a clear shot. My placenta is far from danger measuring 2.9 cm from the cervix (2 weeks ago they said it was 1.2 cm from the cervix). I asked how it could have moved so fast and she said that they with the baby being right on the cervix it probably distorted the view making it look closer.

The Progeny is developing really well. He was showing off by practice breathing and moving around a lot. But, he's still measuring on the small side at about 1.4 kg (approx 3.5 lbs). For that reason they are going to keep booking regular u/s. A small baby is fine with me as long as he doesn't think that he can hang around in there until 2011!

So glad the placenta has moved!

I hate to tell you this but the carpal tunnel is a symptom that does not go away right away. I have numb finger tips on my right hand almost all day - left is not so bad. My doctor told me it usually resolves itself by the 6 week post partum appointment but if not we will "deal with it then".

Glad your placenta moved! I had carpal tunnel also and it SUCKED! I had to wear braces, and limit my movement too. Won't be long now!

Sounds like a great appointment.

I had carpal tunnel so bad that my hands were numb all the time. It took almost a year, but it did go away.

I've told him that 7 lbs is plenty big! He can grow later.
