I just feel like there is stuff I should be doing by now. We havent really done much of anything yet. I am 26+ measuring 27+ so time is really flying by, but I guess I just dont know what to do?

What did or are you doing to get ready for baby?

Maybe I am just crazy, but I am definitely at that anxious stage!

Well, i had already had my baby by your point and i didnt really have much ready! My shower was going to be around 30 weeks then i was going to wait until after that to really get by butt into gear. BUT, while i didnt actually have much at that point i had everything picked out so i knew what i wanted as soon as i had my shower. Around this time i started working on the nursery also, again i had everything picked out but i actually started purchasing, painting etc... i actually procrastinated a bit on that i'm usually done with things WAY in advance but again we were getting our crib and bedding as a gift so i had to wait.

I guess if you're having a shower i would say at this point just start making lists of things you'll need to be ready to purchase after. I also started buying diapers and wipes throughout my pregnancy and clothes here or there too... especially larger sized clothes

Don't worry there's still lots of time. I pretty much followed a to do check list in one of my pregnancy books. It was my bible during my pregnancy. It was very similar to this one I found.

Checklist: Pregnancy Timeline - Pregnancy - Pregnancy Tools

I hope that helps. We didn't start on our nursery till week 30 and we didn't do any shopping till after our shower but I pretty much followed everything else to the t. Good luck.

I did the nursery right around the time you are at because I had things coming up the weeks before she was due. I agree with the timeline!

I also started getting my stuff together around 24+ weeks but I also had alot of stuff for work and I traveled, so it was easier for me to buy stuff when I went into the big metro areas.

I literally had nothing to do in the end - except wash stuff - because I had it done and I'm glad I did because by the end I got kind of tired of doing it and I just wanted to relax.

I'm with you. I have been swamped at work this last month, which makes me very sad, because I don't have the energy to think about our little bean and plan for him. I'm hoping things will get better by mid-November. Thanks for the checklist Christina!

I'm feeling very overwhelmed also! I'm 18 weeks and I really want to try to get stuff done sooner rather than later, because I know towards the end I'll be super-stressed if its not done. I'm trying to register and finding that a daunting task, I don't know why! I've picked out the furniture and we are going to order it in the next couple weeks. We are having a shower at 28 weeks so I guess that after that is when we will really buckle down and start getting stuff together.

I think I started painting around that point, because I taught year-round school and was off track. I wanted to get the nursery done because I was teaching up until 20 days before my due date and end of the year stuff totally consumes me every year. So really, it was just fitting the getting ready into my schedule as opposed to when was the right time.

I've just now started working on the nursery so i'm a big procrastinator. Thankfully we have everything we need except for the bathtub which i'll worry about later. You have plenty of time.

I wish I had known that you really dont need much when you first come home with the baby. Basically what you need is a place for the baby to sleep whether it's in your room or in the nursery, diapers, shampoo towels, washrags, wipes, bottles or breast feeding supplies. Don't buy many clothes because everyone will buy you those. you need blankets. but the rest of the toys and stuff just register for those and your family and friends should come through for you.
