Did anyone have an u/s done at 5weeks & 3 days or around that time frame? I went today and the Tech only saw my Sac & Yoke...no baby I can't help but be worried...has this happened to anyone else or do you think its just to soon? My SIL went around 5weeks and the same happened with her. She went yesterday now at 7+weeks and they saw babe + heartbeat and everythings fine. So i'm trying not to be worried but its hard....

Same exact thing happened to me. Exactly. I bawled my eyes out all the way home. I had one the following week and there was a nice, strong healthy hb.

My doctor doesn't do an ultrasound until 8-12 weeks for this very reason. I think sometimes they can see a heartbeat at 7 weeks, but from what I know most doctors wait until 8 weeks just so they don't worry a mother unnecessarily. 5 weeks is definitely too early to see the baby, so don't worry!

That is SUPER early to see anything more than a yolk & sack. I had an u/s done right around that time, and they could only confirm the pregnancy with my beta levels because it was too early to see anything. If I'm remembering right, your beta levels need to be 1,000-2,000+ or else it's too early. My beta at the time of that u/s was only in the 400's.

When I got my first u/s at almost 7 weeks they could see the hb, but couldn't get the reading. Mini-Keg was way too mini! When I went back 2 weeks later, everything looked good. Good luck when you go back!

I had mine done at 6 weeks and we had baby and a heartbeat but I think her heart had just started like a day or two before. I think by your next one you'll be able to see more.

I wouldn't worry.. its still early! My doctor's office said they wouldn't do one until around 8 weeks or so.

I think the rule of thumb is its VERY hard to see baby before 6 weeks and most places won't do u/s until 8 weeks. We had our first u/s at 8w2d. That way they can be sure to get a HB and see baby etc. I am SURE everything is fine!

We had our first at 7 weeks. There was a HB but DH and I couldn't see it or really see anything. The tech assured us that all was well. I don't think that the heart starts beating until week 6.

At 5.3 weeks all I've been able to see was a yolk sac. It's amazing that in just a few days you can see a fetal structure and a HB

Yep, I agree with the other girls. I am suprised they even gave you one that early knowing they wouldn't see anything.
