I woke up at 4 am this morning and felt really wet. I was just going to go back to sleep thinking incontinence or a lot of discharge, but I decided I needed to go check. I was full of blood. I haven't had any cramping, just a little back pain. So I woke up DH and we went to the Urgent care. They don't have ultrasounds during the night, so the doctor used a doppler to try to find the heart beats. He *thinks* he found both of them, since he heard two that were different beats. He didn't do an internal exam because he didn't think it would help explain anything and it could make the bleeding worse. I was ok with that, because I know he isn't an ob and probably couldn't tell me much. My doctor is out of the office today on call and they are trying to reach him so he can call me. The bleeding has continued and it is red, sort of like an early day of a period. We had our NT scan on Tuesday and both babies looked really good. Strong heart beats and moving all around. I was just letting myself get excited and now I feel like it will all be taken away.
Update:
I talked to the office and they want me to wait until Monday to come in, actually they wanted me to wait until Thursday, but no way I can wait that long. I am to go to the ER if I have any more bleeding, which I hope doesn't start up again. I talked to someone in the perinatalogists office and they said to follow what the OB's office said. The peri had asked me to begin taking a baby aspirin and she thought that could be what caused the bleed. So no more of that until I get to see a doctor. I think it is going to be a long weekend
Update #2
We ended up going to the ER last night. It looked like the bleeding was starting up again. My cervix is closed and the babies are both still alive. All my labs came back fine. The ER doc was rather blunt. Although a lot of what he said did not match my discharge papers. He thought my risk of miscarriage will be 20-30%, while the papers said 50%. Then at the end he was saying most doctors will tell you to not have sex for 6 weeks (while the papers said 3 weeks). Then he went on to say he didn't believe this and that no study had shown sex caused miscarriage and he thought we could just have sex, but DH would just need to "not put it in so far, you know just use the head" while gesturing with his hand. DH and I were both were thinking, really dude, we aren't so concerned with sex right now (we haven't had any since I got pregnant, I have been too scared and if DH has to wait 6 months he can wait!). While we were waiting this crazy drunk lady came in. Which at least gave us a laugh. As we were leaving the nurse who had been helping her said I think it is going to take me an hour to sober up after that one. I am still really worried, but trying to be calm and hopeful. I just keep getting so mad that this is so easy for people who don't care. Why should all the crack ****** get to have babies so easily and I try so hard and take all the precautions and seem to struggle at every step.

Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I would ask to see another Dr in the practice or go to the ER today and see if they can get you on an ultrasound machine during the day. KUP. I hope everything turns out ok. Lots of prayers for you and your beans!

I'll be praying for you and your beans. I would do the same as Christina and probably go up to the ER to be checked out.

OMG I'm so sorry you had to go through that... Unfortunately it happened to me to, but around 9 weeks, and (again) unfortunately it didn't have good consequences. But I really really hope it doesn't mean anything bad for you... I'm praying that both your babies are doing great. Please KUP.

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I'm SO glad both babies were doing great at the NT scan, and that the Dr. thinks he found both at the ER. I can imagine how scary it must be to be bleeding while pregnant, but I've heard of girls on this forum experiencing this, and it wasn't coming from the uterus, and their cervix remained nice and tightly closed. Try and take it easy, and please KUP!

I didn't say this earlier but could you have had a clot that maybe went unnoticed at the ultrasound? I had a blood clot that formed high up in my uterus most likely from implantation and the blood pooling (that is what I was told). The sonographer told me that if I started bleeding not to worry it would be the clot making its way out. My body ended up reabsorbing it. But she did tell me that blood clots are a reason that a lot of women get concerned when there really is no concern. But - you would only know that if they found it on the u/s.

I know you must be totally freaked, as I have been with every pregnancy in which I have bled....just wanted to let you know that with my twins, I had lots of random bleeding and the doctor's never found a cause....
I think it's just because you are growing and stretching at an accelerated rate. Anxiously awaiting an update after you see your DR

I wouldn't take his "percentages" as fact at all, it doesn't sound like he had any reason to estimate that, if he couldn't tell what the problem was. Good luck with your real dr, I hope he/she can give you some reassuring news.

I am glad the baby's are okay but what a wacky doctor. Hopefully your doctor's office can give you some insight soon on what the cause may have been.
