If you have one what do you have?

If you could have any sling/carrier what would you get?

I got a moby...i didn't know if i'd want one or what but my friend got me one. I haven't used it yet but i'm sure once i figure out what to do with it i'll really like it (gosh i need to do that!!) I am thinking about ordering a seven sling too. They look easy and I have a code to get one for just shipping.

PS speaking of just paying for shipping, i used my udder cover this weekend and i really liked it...

I have a Moby. I don't use it much any more, but it was a life saver in the beginning because I could carry both kiddos in it at once. It's actually not really a Moby. I just went to the fabric store and bought jersey knit fabric and made my own Moby.

I also have 2 Ergos and LOVE them. I highly recommend the Ergo or just about any other soft carrier (not a Bjorn though). We use our Ergos all the time and I find them extremely comfortable. I would love to try a Beco, but I'm not spending any more on carriers for now. The Beco is nice because I believe you can front carry with the baby looking out, something you can't do in the Ergo.

I also have a hotsling and hate it. I used it a few times and neither the girls nor I were happy with it, so I packed it away very early on and forgot I had it until now.

Hey kate,
I was afraid to try the moby, so I got the baby k'tan, and i've used it a couple times. i still have to work on getting her position in it better, but so far it is good and super easy to use.
I did buy the seven sling months ago, with the free code. We tried it the first week or two, and it was terrible, she hardly fit and it just did not seem very safe at all, so now it is sitting collecting dust.

I had a bjorn but then read terrible things about it. I tried it once and while it was easy to use, my shoulders hurt really bad after only 30 mins or so of using it. So then i did ton of research and ended up getting a beco butterfly 2. I went to a store where I was able to try that one, the beco gemni (this is the one that can be worn with baby facing out) and the ergo. I liked both beccos, and probably would have choosen the beco gemni (I liked how the shouldars attached cross in the back) but i ended up getting the beco butterfly because I liked the fabric choice better (I know its vain, but i wanted a cute one and one that could be good for a boy or girl, so ok with future kids).

Desiree is actually sleeping soundly in her beco now. it is great when she is fussy and just wants to be held and rocked. I can out her in it and within minutes she is asleep. i just have to walk around every little bit or rock her, because she doesn't like it if i sit too long I actually posted a picture of her in the beco the other day, on my facebook page if you want to see it.

I know there are tons of options and i spent hours one day researching and then time trying them and talking with the owner at the store (Granola Babies, can buy online, and the store is near my house).

I found good info on the baby center babywearing forum - great app on my phone comes in handy for middle of night feedings: Babywearing - BabyCenter

Sorry that was way more than what you were probably expecting! good luck and let me know what you end up with!

I had an Ergo...didn't like it - hated all of the buckles they were so uncomfortable to me. Since Julie doesn't like to sit in her stroller that much or her carseat I've really been trying to like one because she is getting heavy and it's awkward holding her and pushing a cart.

I bought a used mei tai babyhawk and Julie absolutely hates it. It's a girly print but if anyone is interested in it, PM me.

I'm gonna have to figure out my moby i think! I've heard the youtube videos are good. Like desiree, Tyler likes to be moving. He's most peaceful in the car or on walks as long as we're going somewhere. He's even great shopping if he's not hungry (but who likes to shop hungry??)

One of the stores here will let you try the slings out in the store with your baby. I hope that I can find one that I like.

I loved the moby for the first three months. After that I loved the babyhawk (and still do) and at about 6 months I loved the ergo (and still do).
