Have any of you ladies or someone you know had any experience with Implanon?

It a birth control "rod" implanted in your arm. It lasts up to 3 years and I'm seriously considering it because Mirena did not work for us and we need to think about BC long term. I know something similar (Norplant) had been on the market years ago but has been pulled.

Any info would be great! Thanks!
