Both babies are doing great...appt was at 7w3d and one baby measured 7w1d and the other 7w. Heartbeats were 138 bpm and 140 bpm
I will post a picture as soon as I can but my computer is not working so it might be a little while.

congrats!!!!
speaking from experience, don't announce your great news of twins just yet. The probability of both twins making it past 12 weeks is something around 25%. I don't want to be debbie downer but I was in your shoes and Bella's twin sibling didn't make it past 9 weeks. It was hard to swallow because I announced it to the world! I know a few girls here who have experienced the same. Please enjoy this wonderful blessing but cautiously announce it for a few more weeks.
I'm super excited for you and pray both babies make it!!!!

Wow that def is a debbie downer! Of course we already told everyone we were having twins. When you aren't thinking about one of them going away you don't keep it a secret! Thank you for scaring me even more then I already was! It's greatly appreciated.

Big Big Congrats! I lurk here often from the March PR, and I have to say that I too would announce to the world I was having twins. Just like a singleton, things can go wrong, but I wouldn't want to pretend that I wasn't pregnant in the first place. If God forbid something does happen I would want to lean on others for support in my grief.
Enjoy your exciting news and share with the world!

Sarah don't be too scared. Vanishing twins is a real phenomena, but your babies are both measuring close to each other and have excellent heart rates (which are both good predictors). And if your babies are di, di (two sacs, two placentas) then there are less risks to them. You do automatically get classified as high risk with twins, but I have actually been grateful for that. I see the doctor (both the perinatalogist and OB) all the time, I get my cervix checked regularly already, and I have much more knowledge of what is going on than I would if I were only seeing my OB. I know I read way to much online when I first got pregnant and scared the crap out of myself. So I highly recommend not doing that.

Vanishing twin is more commonly known now because of very early u/s. Before u/s, there were plenty of twin pregnancies that resulted in a singleton and the women never knew they had been prego with twins. The fact that you saw two heartbeats makes the chance of losing either one very low. I wouldn't say your chance of both making it at this point is 25%. Because you had IVF, I'm assuming your twins are frats. That ups your chances of both surviving because you woulnd't have to worry about twin to twin syndrome.
Having twins is absolutely wonderful! Congrats x2! Don't be scared at all. It'll be hard in the beginning but it's so worth it. The women on the multiples board will be very helpful.

Thanks to those of you who said things to put my mind at ease It makes me feel a lot better about it now I go to my regular OB in 2 weeks so hopefully I'll get more pics and maybe a video on my camera of the heartbeats!

First of all, congrats on the twins
Secondly, I don't think Lyz was trying to be mean or "scare" you. She was just stating her personal experience. I have lost 4 babies in a row....my first pregnancy was twins....who made it to 16 weeks, my second pregnancy was a blighted ovum, and my third pregnancy was a perfectly healthy baby who was stillborn at 21 weeks....when I tell people my history, I don't do it to scare them, but simply to make them aware, and I think that's what Lyz was trying to do....
Wishing you a happy and healthy nine months

Congrats on your twins! That's definately double the fun And I agree with Brandi, I don't think Lyz was trying to be mean or hurtful. She's very sweet and was probably just trying to share her experience. Praying that you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!!
