lst niht was one of those nights where you know you're being broken in. Kinda like the ones where they wake up every 2 hours or scream for 3 hours straight and then pass out just to wake up 15 minutes later. That kind of night.

I think i got about 2 hours of sleep. I couldn't sleep so i didn't go to bed myself until 12:30 and tyler had been asleep since about 8:30. Poor thing has been congested and has had a cold pretty much non stop. We use vapo-bath, a vaporizer, snot sucker and saline...he just sounds yucky. He acts pretty much fine. We've also been having an issue with his abundance of spit lately and more than once i have caught him gagging on his spit while sleeping. UGH!

Well at 12:30 i finally go to sleep and for some reason i wake up around 3 to him. About 2 seconds after i wake up he hear him coughing/gagging. so i run over to him and he starts to puke so i grab him and flip him out. He's fine, and now awake and hungry. So i take him out to the living room and he eats. No sooner do i lay him down in his swing, he gags again and before i can grab him, he throws up. At this point he was asleep again, so now i have to wake him to change his clothes. I attempt to put him back in his pack n play but that isn't happening...so i put him in the carseat and lay next time trying to figure out how to get him into the most upright position. Not 3 minutes into it he gags again (this time from snot i think) and pukes all in his car seat, which thankfully i had laid a blanket in. So we change clothes AGAIN. Now he's pissed and wants to comfort eat, so i let him. I run through a number of possibilites as to how to get him to sleep and none of them are good enough for me. So i ended up just laying in the chair and letting him sleep in my arms. But I didn't sleep...just kinda chilled in the dark. Around 5 he was sounding better and i decided he could go back in bed...nope he wants to eat again. So i feed him again, popped him back in the carseat and he slept until 7:40 when B woke us up going to work...

Its going to be a long day.

Thanks for letting me recount my trauma for you. I HATE gagging, choking and puking more than anything for my poor baby. I feel so helpless and like something could go wrong at any second.

Also anyone have any suggestions as to how i can get through this congestion?? The weather here has been very up and down. He doesn't have a fever just seems to have constant drainage down his throat!

Aww, poor guy. I hope that this clears up soon for both of your sakes. I dread the day that Nathan gets his first cold.

Connor has a touch of a cold right now too - but thankfully only one puking episode. I am definitely more sick than he is and that is really hard to deal with! I am trying to keep my distance but of course that is almost impossible as his primary care giver.

poor little guy! I hate colds, because you just can't teach a tiny baby how to clear their throat or sinuses It sounds like you're doing everything you can, unfortunately. I hope he gets through it soon
