Hey ladies...so I am trying to get the nursery 100% done today, but I keep changing my mind on things. So I have 5 baskets for the two shelves under my changing table. I could fit six but am keeping a spot open for a box of diapers and wipes. So 5 baskets what stuff would you put in each one to keep it organized? Here is a list of the stuff i was going to keep in them. What would you put in each one?

bibs
burp clothes
receiving blankets
towels and wash clothes
Socks
Hats
Mittens
A few toys
Pacifiers
Desitin
Powder
Lotion
Shampoo
Body Wash
Baby Tylenol
Gas Drops
Grooming Kit

Is there other things I should keep there?

Thanks ladies!

For when Julie was a baby, this is what I really needed at the changer....diapers, wipes, nail clippers, diaper creams, extra outfits for when she peed all over hers, towels or burp clothes to clean up the pee, and alcohol wipes for the first couple of weeks for the umbilical cord.

Now that she is older, this is what I keep out or in the top drawer of the dresser: scented bags for poopy diapers, things to keep her occupied (toys, jewelry, combs..really anything), lotion, nail clippers, wipes, diapers, rash cream even though we rarely use it, baby vicks...some stuff we use, some we don't. The changing table is a dresser so there are also clothes including socks, blankets, and burp clothes (which I use to clean up pee when she pees all over the table).

I will make a small suggestion...if you have a spot to put a small space heater, I'd do that. Our house can get pretty cold sometimes but we have a small heater that we turn on when doing diaper changes and it really makes a huge difference especially in the middle of the night. She gets her bum warmed rather than having to be half naked when it is really cold.

I can tell you that I put all these elaborate baskets together and we don't even use them....bibs ended up in the kitchen, burp clothes under the changing table to clean up pee (cause they were useless for us). Anyways....GOOD LUCK!

I would keep the bibs in the kitchen for later. Unless you have a super drooler you won't need them for a while. Even then you won't nessesarily need them at the changing table. Also, the shampoo and body wash, towels and washcloths you won't need there either. Keep them in the bathroom where you will use them.

I have 5 bins on my changing table and then a side thing of drawers. One has extra diapers and wipes, one has mittens, hats and socks, one has bath stuff (shampoo, washcloths, towels) and one has bibs, and one is full of toys, teethers and pacis. I have an additional basket on my bathroom counter that has more soap/baby products and all of his medicines, as well as the hydgiene stuff (nail clippers, nasal aspirators etc). I keep all of his blankets in a basket on the floor and in the bottom drawer of the dresser.

I do agree with LeeAnn though. These are just the places where these things "go". Half the time the nail clippers and gas drops and snot suckers are out in the living room where we spend most of our time. We don't use bibs much yet but i always have a basket of laundry going that is full of burp cloths, extra clothes, towels and things so that i rarely have to get get things out of his room for now. And at this point bc he's still not sleeping in his room we have a box of wipes and diapers in the living room as well.

Julie still sleeps in our room..in our bed; I guess that is her comfort and security. Anyways, we have a split floor plan but our house plan is not open so I have to walk through a bunch of rooms to get to the other side of the house so each night we take the changing pad, diapers and wipes and put them on the kitchen table and she is changed there if she wakes up at night. Nothing you do is permanent. You'll find your groove once he gets here.

Our change table has 3 baskets and 2 drawers. The bottom drawer is all receiving blankets. The top drawer is full of diapers (the next bigger size that we're not using yet). One basket has all of the diaper covers and liners. The next one has all of the X-Small diapers in it that we use now. And the 3rd is a hodge podge (although mostly wash cloths as we don't use wipes). Beside the change table is the hamper and diaper pail.

Organize as best as you can, you will most likely change things once you know what you need.
