I'm excited but so nervous and scared. My first u/s isn't until March 17 when I'm 8.5 weeks...I dont know how I'll make it that long! How did you make it through the first weeks?

I had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks and it was such a long wait! You will inevitably worry about things, everyone does, but you can always come here for reassurance! I had some freakouts at the beginning and the ladies here really helped calm me down every time. And, though it seems like a long wait right now, soon you'll be in that ultrasound room wondering where the time went!

I made it through the pregnancy by setting small milestones and never looking too far ahead.

Thank you both! I'm so nervous so the reassurance is nice. My first goal is my dr's appt Tues...hopefully they will call with the results of my b/w that same day. Since I'm a worrywart I'm hoping she'll let me come back thurs or fri to check for doubling.

I agree with Kim. I also set small milestones. First appointment, first beta, second beta, seeing heartbeat, NT scan, 20 weeks, viability lol I could go on and on. Congrats! Stay away from google and try and enjoy it

One thing I did in the very beginning was allow myself to keep testing. At first, I was like STOP testing Jessica you crazy lady, but then I just realized it made me feel SOOOO much better to see those lines...if you do that make sure you use the same brand test though so you don't make yourself crazy if the lines are different colors, ya know?

I also kept telling myself, no matter what happened in the future, I WAS pregnant then, so I should enjoy it and relish in it each day I was blessed enough to still be pregnant. That helped me!

Thanks! I appreciate (and need) the reassurance. I have still been testing just to see the lines darken...although they aren't darker than the control yet (I only got my bfp 2 days ago).

I think not telling anyone helped... I mean obviously I told dh, my mom, my bff, and my JM girls... but not telling the rest of the world helped. Not having people ask me how far along i was helped to not think about it I know it seems like you won't make it, but you will! I felt the same way and now Mackenzie is a month old. Sometimes i look at her and think, wow, i can't believe you are really here!

I started reading my what to expect when expecting book & pregnancy week by week book. I had alot of weeks to read since it starts at week 1 i think, lol. Also i added pregnancy apps to my phone & updates to my facebook so i could keep track how far i was and what the baby was up to that day. I think it helped Theres tons of pregnancy websites too the bump, and baby center that are useful! The first few week do go slow, but it all picks up i think around week 13-14.

I agree with this. I NEVER thought I would get to week 13, it just seemed like time was going so slow. But once I got to week 13 time started flying by and now I just have 13 weeks max left!

Setting small milestones helped and I picked up a couple of pregnancy meditation programs just to help me sleep.
