36 week appointment

Hey ladies, I've been MIA a lot lately I know! So here's an update on me since I'm getting to the home stretch!

I had the GBS swab at my 36 week appointment today, and then my first cervical check. All I was hoping for was head down.. keeping my expectations low! I have a friend who is due Monday and she is miserable and hasn't made any progress whatsoever so I didn't want to get my hopes up and end up frustrated like her. So it totally shocked me when my doctor said I'm 50% effaced and a loose 1, almost 2cm dilated! Even though I know it doesn't mean anything, it was such welcome news because when my mom had me, she had no progress and then her water broke 3 days late, and after 24 hours of pitocin she never made it past 1cm and had a c-section. I'm so glad my body is at least doing something on its own!

Anyone have progress at 36 weeks and want to share how long it took to go into labor for real? I know I could stay like this for weeks, I'm just curious.

sounds great!! I was 3cm and 80% at 37 weeks...and...had him at 40 weeks exactly (didnt have any more progress until my water broke)...but, he wasnt late

I was 3cm and 80% effaced at my 37 week appt and 4-5cm at my 38 week appt. I don't think I would have made it even another week, but I was induced because of dangerously low fluid. My sister and I are freakishly weird when it comes to dilating. She had to be induced 2 weeks early because she was 7, yes SEVEN, centimeters and our dr was afraid she would deliver at home (although she had no contractions!!)

any progress is great progress

I was closed at my 38th week, but delivered before my next appointment.

That is some really good progress! I had preterm labor really early so by 36 weeks I was already 3cm and 60% effaced and I stayed there for awhile until my 38 week appt where I was 3-4 and then that sunday I was at 5cm.
