37 week appointment, kinda crazy! (x-posted)

So um last week I was shocked to find out I was 50% effaced and 2cm dilated. Then, my feet swelled for the first time, and just a day or two ago, my face got really puffy. I've also been short of breath and had a couple headaches. So I was wondering about my blood pressure. I've also been having tons of pressure down there and losing mucous and feeling some period-like crampiness so I thought maybe I was progressing more but didn't get my hopes up since I'm a first-timer!

Well first my bp was 130/70, which is not really a problem except when you combine it with the face puffiness and the fact that my baseline for the pregnancy has been 105/70, last week it went up to 120/70, and then this week went up again. Oh, and my doctor was out sick today. So, all they could do was order bloodwork to see if I have pregnancy hypertension.

Then I get checked. His head was so low she had to go BEHIND it to reach my cervix, and yowsa that hurt! He is at 0 station! What the heck! And, I'm 80% effaced and 4cm dilated. I don't know what to think right now. They said yes women walk around at 4 for weeks, but the fact that I've been having the crampiness and I progressed from last week to this week, they think I will definitely not make my due date and possibly only have another 1-2 weeks in me at most.

So, I have to call at 7:45am to get my bloodwork back, and if anything is abnormal I have an appointment scheduled with my doctor for 9:30am, because she may want to deliver him tomorrow! At the very least I have to stay off my feet, drink lots of water, and I may go in for more frequent appointments now than what they planned. If my bloodwork is fine I'll cancel tomorrow's appointment and make a normal 38 week one. So I'm off to bedrest myself for the evening.

I just can't believe this! I thought for sure I would go overdue. I'm glad we have everything ready and bags packed!

With that kind of progress, I dont think you would go late...in fact, it sounds like even if you arent induced, I'm not sure if you'll make it to next week - congrats and I cant wait to see your LO!
