Saira (ndsai05) is in labor! Update on Saira and pics of Cavan

Here is the update I got from Saira around 6pm EST

"Official diagnosis is preeclampsia, I was 3-4 cm at my appt this morning. Started pit at 11, broke my water at 1 and I was 5 cm, got the epi soon after cuz contractions kicked in fast And strong. I'm now 6-7 and contractions are 2-3 min apart. Should be here this evening, so far its been smooth sailing! Hope it stays that way!"

Yeah come on little boy we are excited to meet you!

Cavan Thomas was born march 18th 7:25 pm 5 lbs 2 oz 16.5 inches long.

Latest update from Saira "Thanks for updating for me! I will be Mia still for awhile so here is an update on us you can share, I will try to post more pictures soon but you can share whatever is on fb. Labor and delivery went so smooth, pushed for 20 minutes! But that got me a third degree tear that is just awful. I got 30 minutes with him before they started me on 24 hours of magnesium sulfate to prevent seizures from the preeclampsia. I crashed, vomiting and so weak I couldn't hold myself up or talk or do anything. Saturday is a blur because of that. My bp has been up and down ever since and I go to the doc on thurs to check on it. Recovery is tough with this tear and trying to breastfeed after he was on formula because of low glucose levels. He had some jaundice and spent yesterday under the lights. But he only lost 4 oz of his birthweight and we went home tonight. I will update in more detail with a birth story later, recovery is so hard but this little guy is so worth it!"
