I noticed that Des's doctor did not give him the rotavirus vaccine at his 2 month appointment, although it is listed on the schedule of recommended vaccines. She didn't discuss it with me. I called the office and am waiting to hear back from her. I know there were some issues with the vaccine side effects a while back, but I thought that was cleared up.

Just wondering if your los got it and what your experience was. Any problems with it?

my kids got that vaccine at 2 and 4 months. We chose not to delay it because of the time of year. If I had a baby this time of year, then I might delay it by a few months. We saw no adverse reactions to the vaccine. Your kid can still get the rotovirus after getting the vaccine, but it shouldn't be as severe as a case. The girls and I all had it this past winter. It was horrible!!!! I can't imagine how they would have been if they weren't vaccinated against it. I was so sick that I couldn't take care of them. That's just our experience though. I'm sure there are a ton of people who get the vaccine and others who don't who never get the rotovirus.

Tyler got it at all three appts. I think he's done now? I wonder why they didn't give it to you. The only thing I noticed was somewhat explosive poop after the first one, but other than that, no adverse reactions.

I believe so far Darcy has gotten it at 2 and 4 months (she has her 6 month in june). I wasn't in the room for the 4 month one but i'll find out if she's getting it again this time. She never had any reactions to any of the shots either.

His doctor said they don't carry it and I should go to the local health department to get it!!

I fired her.

We're seeing a new pediatrician on Friday who will give it to him.

How lame!!!

Nathan has had his D-Tap, meningococcal, and pneumococcal vaccines. I don't think that the rotavirus is a part of that.
