Because baby had been breech since forever and measuring behind on U/S...doctor took baby out on Monday (38 weeks)...you cant deliver a breech baby vaginally in our hospital so we tried an external version to turn baby - 2 doctors pushed full force for a long time (quite painful)...baby wouldnt turn...
Didnt have time to think about it (thank goodness) got wheeled back to surgery, and ITS A GIRL!!! Maiya Anastasia was born at 9:35am...
I can say that vaginal is definitely less painful, but luckily I was decently prepared for the c/section, and she is absolutely perfect, she is tiny, but not as tiny as they thought (thank goodness!) - almost 6 pounds and 18" long
Matt found out she was a girl when they lifted her over the drape and HE got to say "Its a girl"
This is her today at 48 hours old in her first dress (it is newborn size and absolutely swimming on her) <3
