I'm a Home Ec teacher and today realised how tough this is going to be, particularly covering it all up from people at work. I walked into the kitchen this morning with my class of 24 kids and all I could smell was vomit, I cleaned the sink out (which hadn't really been used) and emptied the barely used bin but still the smell lingered. Some of the kids in that class asked me if I was feeling alright. So anyway, I felt really really gross during that lesson and by the time it got to morning tea I was really green. I went to the tuckshop to buy some plain chips to nibble on to see if it settled me and a juice for energy and a teacher in line asked if I was ok and if I was feeling a little sick. Managed to get through to lunch by the skin of my teeth but decided I really couldn't stomache anything so settled for a drink (which I had to get from a staffroom with 20 people in there) and another 10 people asked if I was ok ... and so it went right through to 5pm when I finally decided to go home.

But there are a lot of things people will start to notice. My MIL already noticed that I don't have coffee ... I was sick at the time though, so I just said "Yeah, you haven't heard that dairy makes congestion worse? I don't want to risk the cream and you KNOW I can't drink it black!".
Well I work for the government as a Visual Information Specialist and I do a lot of standing and using drafting boards and very large printer and laminating machine etc. This week has been a little different for me because I am the fastest worker in my office but my back has been killing me and the slight cramping doesnt help. I try to relax and take 15 mins break but that is not much help. Good thing everyone at my job is very understanding and the other woman I work with already been through this more then twice so they are really helpful.
yeah im lucky i have a part time job, i knew as soon as Dh and I came back from our overseas travels that as soon as i got pregnant id be sick, so i didnt settle into full time. I am sick all the time!! Dh is getting more hours so i can totally cut back, i work as a tutor for a private english school and its really an easy job but sometimes gets a little tough when your excusing yourself to go and throw up in the bathroom..errr..
good luck vicki! i hope things work out, i know its hard to tell people in the first trimester (i really only started telling more people yesterday) but sometimes you have to or they will probably pick it up anyway..
