WOW! I highly recommend doing this!!!!! I had so many people think I was weird coz I wanted to do this ... mainly to get pics, but hey ... any way the sonographer was fantastic, she talked us through all the body parts with both babies and took heaps of pics for us and put them on a cd.

Anyway the results for DS are this : The low risk group is defined as being a risk of 1:300 chance or less of having a baby with a chromosome abnormality. Because of my age the risk of having a baby with down syndrome is 1:607, however the results of my scan and blood work estimated the risk for each baby is 1:12124. So ummmm yeah, happy with that!!!!

Baby A's hb was 167 and B's was 144 (the sonographer said it was because one was jumping around more than the other and that the normal range is between 120-180). Both measured at 12 w 6 d, A was 6.59cm and B was 6.64cm.

Here's some pics

Welllllll thats a bone of contention LOL I want to find out, DH doesn't. So unless I can change his mind I guess we won't be finding out. He's going to every apt too so I can't find out and not tell him

The sonographer said that unless they're different sexes we wouldn't be able to tell if they're identical or not until birth ... and apparently 70% of twins are the same sex anyway so we'd have to wait then too ... I never knew this about identicals, I always thought that they were only identical if they were in the same sac but if the cell splits into two within days 1-3 they will be in separate sacs and have separate placentas, if its days 3-5 they will have the same placenta but different sacs, days 5-7 and they are in the same sac and after that you run the risk of conjoined twins. Both my OB and the sonographer said that I have the best type .. different sacs, and placentas that are placed opposite each other which means that they will basically develop as two individual babies and won't run the risk of TTTC or any of those other problems that a lot of twins have in gestation.

Hehe that 4D pic looks like they're playing hide and seek, they both have their hands over their eyes!!!! Oh and yeah, they are in separate sacs .... just so soooo close

LOL I'd love to but I can't! DH doesn't get to be involved in too much during this part of things so in order to make him feel a little more included, if thats what he wants then thats what he gets.

Wow!! so very cute Vicki!!! Can't wait to find out what they are:-) you know we are still on the debate about find out our babies gender, but we concluded (DH wants to know, i dont) with getting the sonographer to write it and put in an envelope., then open it at dinner together, dh is taking me out for my birthday a week after the scan, so that'll be cool. only about 4 weeks to go!

Well so far so good, so I'm hoping I'll at least come close to term ... I'll be happy with 32ish weeks though I think, I'm pretty sure that I'll be getting steriod shots some time around 26-28 weeks onwards just in case. LOL will let you know as I know! Got my next OB apt on friday so maybe he might talk future a little bit more with me than he did last time.
