I had my c-section on 11/29. The worst part of the day was getting my IV put in. Two veins blew before a successful stick in my wrist, which was weird, but worked. I'm 11 days post partum and am down to just taking Motrin once or twice a day for pain. It really hasn't been too bad. Definitely not as bad as my first c-section that followed 2 days of induced labor.
I have been a much more laid-back mommy this time around. It's still hard, but I know this time around, for instance, that if he cries for a while, it's not going to kill him.
Miles is a really good baby. He weighed a whopping 11 lbs. 7 oz. -- thank God for c-sections, eh? We had to supplement some before my milk came in, but he is gaining his weight back now. My only complaint is WHEN and HOW OFTEN he prefers to eat -- the middle of the night . He ate twice today between 2 and 8 AM and has slept the rest of the time. I wish he could do that stretch a little earlier for sleeping purposes. He also cluster-fed from 6-10 PM last night and at midnight and 2 AM. He is insatiable and that makes me cranky in the middle of the night! Thank goodness DH is able to deal with both of us well in that situation!
Audrey is adjusting well. It's hard with me nursing all the time. I think she feels left out. I try to snuggle with her when I'm not holding the baby, but I also have other things to do!
