A filmmaker
who recently released an independent project about a formula that turns all heterosexuals into "gays" now has announced he's working on "The Princess Diana Bible" in which "God" ordains homosexuality as the better lifestyle.
"There are many different versions of the Bible; I don't see why we can't have one," stated Max Mitchell in a statement on a website for his new project.
The "gay Bible," produced by the New Mexico-based Revision Studios, states God instructs "it is better to be gay than straight."[/b]
Quote:
In Mitchell's version, Genesis talks about Aida and Eve:
"And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Aida, and she slept: and he took one of her ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from woman, made he another woman, and brought her unto the first. And Aida said, 'This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of me. Therefore shall a woman leave her mother, and shall cleave unto her wife: and they shall be one flesh.' And they were both naked, the woman and her wife, and were not ashamed."
The new version continues:
And Eve conceived, and bore Cain, and said, we have created a child in God’s image. And God said the male was different than the woman because he was fathered by the serpent. … And Eve again conceived with the serpent and bore Cain's brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
According to the pro-homosexual website Queerty.com, Mitchell has described his work as divinely inspired.[/b]
i believe in the bible, and always have.... isn't it a sin to change the word of God?? I mean, if he wants to make his own little story book, then ok, but lets not try to say its a bible and that homosexuals should live by it.... i'm just..... i really don't know about this.
Yeah, it's being called a new translation, but it's not a translation; it's a rewriting.
I know this really just applies to the Book of Revelation, but it seems to be fitting in this instance as well.
Quote:
18I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. -- Revelation 22:18-19[/b]

Hmm, doesn't bother me ... I don't think anyone is going to pick this up and then get confused about which "bible" is the "right" one. It's obviously going to have a specific purchasing market...
The history of the world is full of older religious traditions being changed and updated and re-worked as times and cultures change .... heck, even among christians, there are catholics, eastern orthodox, protestant, etc. (never mind the many and varied divisions of protestantism) that have taken the bible to mean various things and adjusted their religious practise accordingly.
And the bible as a text has been modified and re-translasted so many times as it is ... yes, this is a big change ... but there have been "big" changes in the past, so long ago that we don't even realize that our current version of the bible is not what it used to be at different times.
but i dont understand how it can be called a new translation? it is clearly not a translation. when you translate, you make something easier for someone to understand, you dont take something and totally change it. that would be like me taking the sentance "The cat ran after the ball" and saying that it means "the dog ran after the car", its 2 totally different things. I also don't think anyone will really take it to heart, but is this guy going to try to push this as if it were actual biblical text that he got through a divine vision?
I don't agree with it at all( not that I would break down the guys door in protest or anything), not to mention I am speechless and don't even know what to say especially about this part;
Quote:
And Eve conceived, and bore Cain, and said, we have created a child in God’s image. And God said the male was different than the woman because he was fathered by the serpent. … And Eve again conceived with the serpent and bore Cain's brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.[/b]
so this "bible" is saying eve conceived by the devil?
lol is it saying men are the devil?? that is funny! i was a little confused by that book though. it sounds like the only right way to be homosexual is to be a lesbien? it talked more fondly of women then men....
It's not the first book to adopt the word 'Bible' in the title.
I agree with Michelle, this just doesn't seem like he's actually serious.
And Brittany: It may be a sin to change the word of God, but I'm pretty sure he's not too concerned with what is and isn't a sin.

I don't see it as any more radical or different than the dude who wrote "In the beginning..." The current Bible is so updated, re-wrote, edited, and switched around, I don't see why someone wouldn't want to do it again.
