I would have fallen apart. I don't know what TSA would have done to me because I would have been out of control.
That woman needs to call anyone she can think of to try and report this. It's wrong on every level. They could have "searched" that boy without taking him out of his mother's sight.

Wow. That is completely insane. I would have been hysterical and inconsolable. I would be contacting everyone I possibly could about this, newspapers, airport, police, anyone and everyone.

That is sick. I honestly don't know what I would have done, but from reading the story I was mad enough...if it had actually happened to me then I would probably have gone nuts.

I still don't understand why they separated them?

and futhermore, I would've gone ballistic! I would have stopped the guy while he was escorting my son away. They could've called the authorities, the police, the secret service! I would've gone ballistic!

Seriously? Going ballistic? Why? These people may not be nicey-wicey, but they are trained, and they have to pass lengthy background checks to get these positions.

I had to hand Leo to an agent so they could look inside the holder I had him in last year. Didn't bother me. If they had walked off with him, it would have been cause for concern. I would have asked a gazillion questions. But I wouldn't have panicked. The chances of them actually running off with the kid and never coming back were slim to none. So I would have simply calmly demanded to know where they were taking him and when they would be back.

I can see it being a cause for concern, but that woman is flipping out. Sheesh.

Honestly I think she has real reason to be concerned. I HAVE been searched before & the people were RIDICULOUS. I was just asking questions (no attitude, just trying to understand what they want) and they were incredibly rude & hostile. I honestly would NOT put it past them to do a cavity search on a baby - SERIOUSLY. There is NO freaking way they would restrain me after what I experienced if something like this occurred with me & my child. You won't find a more cooperative person than me when it comes to authorities & I was treated like a piece of garbage for asking if they wanted me to remove my sweater because i had a t-shirt on underneath.... so - if she had people like i had at the one search, then I dont blame her one bit.

I would have been pissed off and worried if my daughter were taken out of my sight, but I'm not sure if I would have reacted quite that strongly. She said she always keeps a Xanax on hand so it seems pretty likely that she has a history of anxiety for whatever reason.

It's hard to tell without hearing both sides of the story. She says she was polite, but maybe when they were pulled aside she was antagonistic and that's why they took her son aside. Or maybe they are power-hungry a-holes who do what they want. It seems strange that they took her son away and then brought him back and let them both go without any further searching on her. Did a supervisor tell them what they were doing was inappropriate?

Still, if that happened to me, I'd probably consult a lawyer. I'm not sure on what grounds but they were way over the line (if things happened exactly as she said they did).

BWI is a popular flight destination from ATL from no less than 4 airlines. I would have stayed, missed my flight and made sure this made the evening news while dealing with everyone I could in sight. This did teach me one lesson, remove the pacifier clip before the babies and I take off next Friday!

If the guidelines said they do not separate parent and child, then she has every right to be flipping out. I would also flip out too if no one was listening to me and took Lily out of my site, not letting me explain to her what was about to happen. There is no reason for them to take the son away. None. There is no reason to separate parent from child, and I would be acting the same way.

Somehow after reading her blog it doesn't strike me that the woman was the picture of calm even BEFORE they took her kid away - I'm sure to just run him through the metal detector.

Obviously she has anxiety issues, but they did not need to take the child out of her sight. And to search him!??!? I would imagine that any parent would become nervous at the very least if their child was carried out of their sight in an airport by someone you didn't know (regardless of their position). Many sex offenders don't have a criminal background, who's to say that this guy wasn't some pedophile who wanted to search the kid "out of sight" I would have been highly pissed and probably would have missed my flight to speak with someone/anyone who would listen. Further, their rules stated that parent/child will not be seperated, so they were clearly in the wrong.

^^That is what I am thinking too! What is the point of separating them?? That is the part that makes me mad and I am pretty sure would freak me out, because there is no point in taking a baby away from his mother to be "searched" It is bullsh!t.

I wouldn't have freaked out and needed a pill. I would have been annoyed that's for sure but I wouldn't have gone crazy. Like stated, they are trained. This is what they do.

Um guys.. guessing no one has actually seen the video released yet? I've got 2 minutes left and the furthest away the kid has been is 2 feet to her left in his stroller. I'm calling lair on this one.
