I hope I'm posting this in the right forum. Anyways, I had a dream last night that had my good friend that passed away 2 years ago in it. Now I've heard several times that when you see someone you know in your dream that has passed away that it is them communicating with you. How many of you believe this/what are you beliefs on this?

I've heard people's souls can travel while their sleeping back to Heaven &/or to familiar places to be with the people that have moved on. I think it's possible. Logical? No but I think we have to open to it being a possiblity.

I think that a spirit is more apt to communicate with you while you are asleep because you can't control what you are thinking. When you are awake, you don't have a pathway to communicate with the dead as much as you do when you are asleep. I dream about people that have passed away at least once a week. The other night I had a dream about a woman I had never seen before. She told me to get in touch with Tammy and tell her that the safety deposit box key is in her sweater pocket in the closet. I couldn't talk or ask questions, I just kept trying to get words to come out of my mouth. I have no idea who Tammy is or this woman. I'm almost sure she had passed on. What do you girls think of this?

I believe that you can be visited by the dead in your dreams, but I also believe that it could just be a dream made up by your mind. I think the way we decipher between the two is the way we're left feeling, but also how fresh it stays in your mind. I was told once that if a dream you had is as fresh today as it was 3 years ago when you had it, it's most likely a vision, not a dream.

I definitely think that spirits can visit us in our dreams, but from my own experience I have never been able to be sure if I was being visited or simply dreaming of them because I missed them. I think if they tell you something of great importance and you find out its true, than you can be sure, but otherwise how can you really know?

I was told that if you are in a field in a dream with a dead loved one, that you are in the spirit realm with them, no clue though, someone just told me that.

When you dream of the dead it is most likely someone saying hi. In a dream you classify it as a dream.

What I mean is, if you were awake and the deceased person came and sat beside you, you definitely would not think that was at all a happy moment.

So when they come to you in a dream it is not threatening, granted it isnt a bad one.
