And claiming that our educational system is flawed, is apparently also a no no topic. Point Taken, thanks y'all!

Well I don't know what sparked this, but I will say this. You are speaking out against people who are "reactionary," but this is a reaction in and of itself to post this thread. If you are engaging people in debates in other threads that weren't meant to be a debate, well, I can see why someone would feel attacked. There is a reason this board is here, and it's not because it's different or weird. It's out of respect for people who don't want to debate their opinions. Here, we don't like people that post "I don't like XYZ just because and that's why." We like to engage in conversation and question another. That's probably why you were referred here if you were engaging someone and asking them "Why dont you like XYZ?" When their opinions don't need to be challenged in a regular thread. I mean it's fine to ask, but don't expect others to have to cater to you and engage in a debate.

I don't think many people here are fearful at all. Reactionary, sometimes? But that is more so when we see something we like to "react" and debate about it. At least on here. But react with logic, not emotions. Don't call people fearful because they don't want to debate with you. That's not necessary, especially if it wasn't on the debate boards.

If you love to debate, I mean this is the place for you! We love to debate here, and we have people on here who will challenge your opinion just as much as you may challenge ours. That is something we welcome, we just ask to be respectful. Dont call others on the board, especially not on the debate boards (or in debate threads) fearful because they don't wish to respond to a debate. Come here, and engage those that DO want a debate if that's what you wish. Additionally, don't call people reactionary when you make a post about this, ya know? Its kind of the pot calling the kettle black.

Oh wow... I'm reading some of your posts. Seriously, your "debates" are often statements of attack which can REALLY push people in the wrong direction. Like your post about kids in the public school system believing what they are told and not being able to think for themselves..... REALLY? I get that you may want a debate, but the way you go about it are not right. You seem to be on this quest to show everyone how different they are from you in EVERY one of your posts and while you may very well be different, you are exhibiting an attitude that is appalling. Debate, discuss, get voices of dissent and talk about it, I think that's great to do that... but do it in a way where your statements are educated facts or at least educated observations based on real life experiences which don't attack others.

Are you serious? I post exactly why your posts can be taken as an attack, and you edit the post and write "And claiming that our educational system is flawed, is apparently also a no no topic. Point Taken, thanks y'all!"

Heck no, debate with me, I DO think our education system is flawed. I think there are many things wrong with it, which is WHY I became a teacher and a huge advocate of alternative education and against things like standardized tests. But do I think public school kids can't think for themselves? Just because they are in public school, as if they are mindless drones? NO! And for you to get all pissy over it and not even respond, shows why people are so upset with you. You take it as an attack, yet someone can question your attack and that's a big no-no. Come on, man up a little and realize people here think differently. I would love, LOVE to start a debate with you on educational systems. Start one. I will intelligently talk with you and probably go on for pages what I think about the education system. But don't sit here and make a comment about how kids in the public school system can't think for themselves, and not expect someone to react.

If you can't have your opinions challenged, why are you ANYWHERE on this board? Especially on the heated debates board, when someone might post something that directly challenges your opinion. I mean I welcome you to this board, I love a good debate, especially if you get one going about education! But don't make a post calling people reactionary, have someone directly oppose you because of what you said, and then YOU react by deleting your post and acting like it's an attack. THAT IS REACTIONARY! THE VERY THING YOU SPOKE AGAINST! Not ONCE did I say education was a no-no topic!

I didnt want to 'insitgate' anymore so I re-wrote my origional post last laste night... Sheesh...
My opinions are infact based on REAL, prefessional experience working with children in public schools.. And if you'll go back and read EVERYTHINg I had to say about it, you'd realize that I wasnt talking about every person that has ever gone to public school.. Family support and involvement has so much to do with, as you all know.

Besides, I'm not talking about individuals, I'm talking about the system itself failing people. I was also referring to this as being part of the problem of SOME women not taking the time to educate themselves about pregnancy...

Anyway, It's a mute point.. I've stirred so much instant, 1-minute hatred that I've kind of given up on actually putting any effort into this whole online media crap.
BTW, What in the heck is a troll anyway? People keep saying that and I have NO IDEA what that is? (I keep thinking of those toys with the crazy hair!)

Just dissapointed that the internet was NOT what I thought it was... (I dont Facebook, text, etc etc... Never 'talked' to people online. Off grid, homestead environment here)

Jeenifer, experiential means experienced based. I lead wilderness expeditions, leadership development courses, challenge courses, teambuilding/leadership programs for school districts.. If you are aware of Outward Bound, that is great example of an experiential education program.

Of course now being pregnant, I'm going on hiadis for a while from certain programs, but will keep up with others next season.
