I can totally see it. I mean, NY is the only place with tall buildings and planes so I see how people can interpret this as yet another snub from someone about 9/11.

Oh yeah. Totally. Any picture with tall buildings and an airplane automatically signifies 9/11. Yup. Obviously everything is about the United States.

If I had just seen the can, I don't think 9-11 would have popped immediately to my mind. It's not showing the planes flying into the buildings.

To me, it looks like any big city with a couple of planes flying over it. I never would have thought 9-11.

I can see how people can see it that way. But I don't see this as that bad. I see the plane in the sky over tall buildings. Not going into said tall buildings. I wouldn't have jumped to 9/11 right away.

That's the can HappyHippy

I'd not have thought twice about it other than "wow this nicer than ours!". Yeah I can see the resemblance, but I agree with everyone else. Tall buildings does not equal NYC

eta: if anything is going to hit a building there... it's the flower

It's a cityscape with a plane flying overhead. Not every city is New York, and not every plane is piloted by terrorists.

I like the design!! Makes me want to travel. Just another reason why other countries are annoyed by us... We always want to make everything about us. I think they should keep the design, shame on the USA for making them change it.

Exactly.

A comment by someone on the page:
"America used to be cool. An innovative and culturally brilliant country. But since 9/11, their society seems paranoid and more xenophobic than ever. Their nervous tics are looking ridiculous to the rest of the world. It makes it difficult to take a superpower seriously."

So true.
