You're right. I wouldn't let Courtney in my home. I don't know if it is because of her name or the fact that she pronounces 'hot dogs' as 'hot daaawgs'.

Working at the daycare center had me rolling my eyes all the time. People are either not creative at all like with all the -aiden/-ayden names, or they overdo it by taking a nice name and screwing up the spelling. Courtney was a great name IMO until I met Kourtneigh. No joke.
I can't say a kid would be banned from my house because of their name. I think the article was a sarcasm.

I know this is a stupid question, but how do you pronounce Rhys? I keep seeing it online, so I don't know how it sounds.

I always pronounce it how it looks, or is it suppose to be Reece?

Pretty sure it is Reece, but I don't see why it wouldn't be rice. Isn't that the sound y makes?
Oh I forgot I double fail because I added the Y to Jayde.

I was scratching my head at Paige, all the Paige's ive ever known (other than one little girl in Sash's kinder class) have been elderly women. Didnt realise it was a "hip" and "cool" name worthy of tutting.
I think this is one of those articles that was meant to be funny, but missed the mark with the language used and ended up getting backlash. At least, I will post that thats the case.
As for my kids, well, id say theyre a surefire fail.

I actually thought this article was kind of funny, which is also how I think it was meant to be.
I also kind of see her point. I know someone who has 2 daughters. Both girls names fall in the top 10 most commonly used stripper stage names. All i can think is, seriously?

It's pronounced like "Reese". It is the traditional spelling of the name.

I have a Brayden and Addyson, I doubt I would be let in.
I wouldn't want to associate with her anyway. I read reddit and this is the thing that made me go *** today.

HEY NOW. Everyone knows Jersey originates as the proper pronunciation guide to the English language.

Since I have a "Z" in my name, it automatically means I am fancy. I would def be let in.

I have a
Alyssa Renae
Tristan Alexander and
Gavin Rhys.
I am sure she would probably boycott my boys. hehe
I have had Gavin for 2 months now and even my family ask how to say "Rhys". I was baffled that I TOLD them the name then when they saw it spelled, they lost it. Reese and Reece are more "Americanized" or so I read.
I also think it is sarcasm.

I would definately not be allowed, 3 out of 4 of my kids. I have a Tyler, a Arielle and my youngest is Autumn Rayne. I wouldn't want my kids around anyone who is so snobbish.

I have a Benjamin so he's in the clear to play with her kids! I'm not sure how she'd feel about Jillian.
Before I had kids I was a teacher. It is weird sometimes how you start to notice name trends/behaviors. There are a few names that I just couldn't bring myself to use for my own children because every student I had with that name was a behavior problem.
I think people tend to forget that names mean a lot in life and are often an initial way to judge someone. People who do the hiring for big corporations have admitted that they often just skip right over resumes for people with strange names. I'll fully admit that when I hear certain names certain images come to mind.

I don't quite get what names ARE acceptable to her. I have an
Anthony Nathaniel
Anastasia Fae
David Cillian
Charles George
Alan Christopher
Every single one of my kids is named for someone (Anthony, Fae, David, George, Alan and Christopher) are all special names for us.
