if an inmate is not contesting their death row status... should they have the choice to donate their organs rather than be given lethal injection?

(watching Grey's Anatomy and the question is eating me.. just wondering your opinions)

i think they should. there are people out there who need those donations, its not their organs that got them there to death row and they wont be using them after their death

That's where my mind was going. I think if they were given an option (on the show the inmate said he was given the option of injection or hanging) and left to choose. I don't think they should be compelled to do it however (I'd love to see everyone donate, but all you can do is ask.. can't force them).
