Ok I can tolarate anaimals, I had horses when I lived with my parents and I loved them but for some reason I just don't like dogs. My husband loves dogs which causes problems between us b/c I can't stand when the dog is inside he smells (no matter how clean he is) and he is just annoying! Does this make me a horrible person? I don't hate our dog he is sweet but I just don't like the hair or smell of him he makes me feel unclean...

Not IMO, no.

If you wanted to hurt them then I would say you are. There is nothing wrong with not liking animals. I do not understand it though. I can understand not wanting one, but not just not liking them in general.

YES!

I don't like some people because they smell so I guess my hypocrite factor went up more!

I can't see how that would make you a bad person, unless like samu2 said you wanted to hurt them. It's just a preference, nothing more.

It has taken a long time for me to get to the point where I can admit this, but here it goes...

I hate dogs too.

I always thought there was something wrong with me! I'm glad I'm not the only one! I see people letting their dogs lick their face and I seriously want to vomit. I think they smell and they are overly hyper and annoying.

Wow, now I feel much better! The truth will set you free!

It does NOT make you a bad person. Everyone has their own personal preferences.

I don't like creepy, crawly things like spiders, bugs and snakes.

I think it would only make you a bad person if you intentionally hurt one like Samu said.

No you are not a bad person! I have a dog as well. I think she is great dog, she is well behaved, she listens, she is potty trained and I would never hurt her. But she's not my "furbaby" I have a hard time sitting there and petting her because for some odd reason, when I touch her, I have this overwhelming need to get to a sink quickly and wash my hands. She is clean, she gets bathed professionally and she gets her hair shaved quite short, so she doesn't shed and she doesn't stink. But I just have a hard time petting her without feeling the need to go wash my hands. I'm like this with any animal though. I would only think you were a "bad" person if you were abusive or neglectful of the dog.

OT: As a dog lover, you all have to see this book: Men are dogs
Isn't that demeaning?
Not when you consider how wonderful dogs are!
Written like a dog breed book,
MEN ARE DOGS compares qualities of men to 42 breeds of dogs.

You would probably find me disgusting.

and I agree with everyone else, you would only be horrible if you abused or neglected an animal. Disliking them isn't grounds for d@mnation.

No, not at all. You are not abusive or neglectful, so disliking them does not make you a bad person. I don't, particularly, care for cats.

Now, this may be another debate BUT, if you decide to have a dog then you are making the commitment to be completely responsible for that dog. Part of that, IMO, is a dog belongs inside with it's family aka it's pack. It really bothers me to see a dog outside forced to weather the elements. Maybe it's just me though.

My DH is a cross between a Boxer:
Playful — physically and mentally

Protective but not aggressive

Tenacious

Able to tune the world out

and a Great Dane (funny)
Protective but not aggressive

He knows how to relax

Good problem solver

Gentle giant

I can't STAND snakes if it makes you guys feel better. i could sleep with my babies every night, but if a snake or like animal gets near me, I have little compassion! I dont want to instantly kill them, but I'm not exactly opposed to it either

I'd say my DH is a mut LOL

Definitely a mix between Boxer & Great Dane.

The funny thing is that our dog, Harley, is a Boxer/Great Dane! LOL
