What one word would you have banned from use on this board if you could?

I'm going to go with ignorant.

ETA: Or emoticon

ETAA: Ok---I'm changing it from 'banned' to 'which word annoys you the most' due to the freedom of speech posts.

ETAAA: Or phrase

Hmmmm... that's a good question. I need to ruminate on this a bit more. Since it's a general board it's hard for me to pick one word that encompasses all these debates. Or maybe I am slow and just need sleep

I would not ban any words, because thats taking away freedom of speech. Everyone is entitled to say what they feel

I will have to think on that one, but I don't think the word ignorant should be banned. I have used it only sparingly, but sometimes it is neccessary, and totally appropriate.

I agree. Unfortunately a lot of people equate being told they are ignorant with being called stupid, which is not the case. I'm still thinking. Can I choose a phrase instead?

"I'm being attacked." <--- I'm not discrediting those who have been TRULY attacked on these boards, but it seems like it gets thrown around a LOT more than necessary.

As for an emoticon: because it's totally random, I will never use it and it freaks me out that Santa looks as if he is going into convulsions . And yes, the world does revolve around me

My pet peeve phrase is "insert personal experience here and I turned out just fine." when used to negate years of studies.

i am not sure if you mean just on the debate board or JM in general. i also don't know if this word gets used much (if at all) on the debate board since i haven't read every thread. but the word that i cannot stand anywhere (debate board, JM, IRL, over the phone, in movies etc)
"retarded". in fact i hate even typing it.

What else has been deleted?

Do you ever wonder who it is that reports threads? Or is it just the mods who see it and make the executive decision to delete them?

Just thinking out loud I guess....
[/b]
No nothing new right NOW... lol. Just leftover anger from past times...

And yes, i DO wonder, but i guess... we'll never really know, will we?

phrase I would delete? hmmm

ignorant I think is very fitting many times and means lacking in information on a subject.. not any measure of intelligence. It is not indicitive of the nature of person, just their level of knowledge on a subject

I think any phrase like "get off your high horse", "oh god you just need to grow up" and things of that nature
