The circ and piercing threads and some things that are said in them got me thinking and I was wondering about this. Please no debating, we have kept the other threads civil, I don't really want this one closed either.
Edited to change wording in poll.

I'm a circer and a piercer. Piercer of ears only that is! I have a teenage daughter.

Me too! For the record, I'm against pierced baby penises.
I have circed my son. I don't have a daughter, but I don't think I'd pierce her ears - I'm not AGAINST it, it just isn't my bag.

Will not circ, but did pierce my DD's ears at 3 months and no regret whatsoever! I know many compare the two, but I do not see them as the same thing and do not find my stance hypocritical at all. Won't say anymore since this is not a debate, and I'm heading out of town in two hours!

I had my daughter's ears pierced at 3 months (well, actually I pierced them myself, but I've also been trained to do so) and I will circumcise my son when he's born.

I disagree with both. The only way a son of mine will be circumcised is if it is medically necessary (which is rare).

Yes, son is circ'd
No, daughters' ears will not be pierced
Yes, we live in the US
I regret the circ and will never allow it on future sons for a non-medical reason

My son, (and future ones) are circumsized.
I didnt get my girls ears pierced as babies, but ONLY because I didnt want to deal with it not because I think there is anything wrong with it.

If I had a son he would be circ.
I would pierce my DD's ears, too. But I did not yet.
And I dont disagree with either

All three of my boys are intact.
I don't have a daughter, but I would probably wait about piercing her ears if I had one.
I really don't have a problem with piercing or circ'ing....It's a decision each family has to make themselves.
I live in the US.
I haven't done either so the last question is NA.

I put that I don't agree with either, but I don't think that the two are really comparable. One is a fairly major surgery that is permanent, and while I know the holes from piercings may stay forever (mine have been there since I was seven, and I haven't worn earrings for over 10 years) its not a very intrusive scar.
All these circing threads without being allowed to debate are driving me crazy! I'm having a tough time watching my words to make sure no one can possibly be offended or challenged!

Our son is circ'd and any future ones will be as well. If we ever have a daughter, her ears will probablyb e pierced, I'm not 100% sure though. It's just not something I've thought about much.
We don't regret our decision to circ or son.

Both my boys are circ.
I never thought twice when I circ my oldest but had a tough time deciding with my youngest boy.
since I don't have a girl it is tough to say what I would do especially since my husband has a opioion too.
Most likely I would wait on her peircing her ears.
The biggest reason is because I can not wear earrings I have pierced mine a dozen times and no matter what type of metal, gold, silver, or how often I clean them they get infected and grow closed. I am just allergic to the metals.
Even when I had pins in my arms those had a adverse reaction and got proud flesh. So there is no way I would want to put my baby through the chance of being like me.
