Well I didn't know this board existed when we were trying to conceive this little one. Since I do know this board exists now I thought I would share my info to possibly help another.

We have two girls who are 8 & 7 years old. They both were unplanned but very much welcomed pregnancies. I love my girls and thank them everyday for being born when they were. After our last was born we just knew it was not the right time to try for another one. With hubby going to school, graduating, moving & starting a new job. Well in January of this year we decided that if we were going to have another one we had better get on that train and soon. As our oldest will be 9 in November.

We wanted a boy so bad and I read some stuff on the internet that said if you have sex closer to ovulation that you have a higher chance of having a boy. So I bought clear blue easy ovulation predictor sticks/kits & a clear blue easy fertility monitor. We were not holding anything back. I started taking the opk's around cycle day 11-12. I took one test in the morning around 7-9am & 9-11pm at night. When I would notice the lines getting alittle darker I would up my tests to 3 a day. I would take them at 7-8am, 2-4pm & 10-11pm. At the same time I was also using the fertility monitor at 8am in the morning. I upped my tests to 3 a day because some ladies can have a short surges an can miss them altogether.

When I would get a positive on my opk's and/or a peak reading on the monitor hubby and I would have sex that night & the next. There can be months where the monitor wont give you a peak reading at all, I had one. We still tried that month, but it didn't work. I ovulate 24hrs after I get a positive. What was really hard was restraining from sex in the beginning of the cycle. I didn't even want to have sex with a condom, as I didn't want it messing with my ph balance and what ever else.

My husband travels all over the US for work. The cycle we got pregnant I got a positive the night before he was suppose to leave. So we had sex that night unfortunately we weren't able to have sex the next night, that I would have preferred to do. I didn't think the cycle worked. My husband said that I was pregnant and it was a boy even before I got a positive. When I started seeing the faint positives I didn't believe them, I made him pee on a test and he willing did so for me.

At 13wks I had some spotting so I had an ultrasound and the tech said at that time she was 85% sure it was a little boy. At our big ultrasound at 19wks 5day, it was confirmed it is a little boy. I hope this story gives faith to those mommas trying for a little boy. I am not saying that this is the fool proof way, but it sure helped us. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Good luck.

Hi everyone my name is Angel I have 2 children from a previous relationship a boy named Jordan 8 and girl named Hailey 7, but my husband raises both like his own we have a girl together Emiley 4 who we used opks with got prego first time when it had only a slight color needless to say we did want a boy, we got a surprise pregnacy girl Christina 2 we adore our little girls but felt as if we where missing a piece of our family, me knowing I did only want 3 kids this was a leap of faith going for 5 but my kids are the one thing in my life that has always given me joy and I was lucky enough to be able to stay at home starting with my last child sooo I read on-line about promos that said they could help you get the gender of your choice which I thought was a joke but as I read into it I found jm and got more info it took me about 2 months to actually give it a try I started drinking lots of pineapple juice and eating handfulls of dry cereal because I read that woman who ate cereal in the morning and that don't skip meals are more likly to concieve boys (I was desperate because this was my very last chance I put on 5 pds in a month ), I also tryed a little bit of every thing in late March so April came and I started using opks and watching my cm I never got a surge on my opk but did notice a difference in my cm so when it turn watery/slippery I douched with baking soda and the next morning my cm was less and thicker so I douched 1 last time b/d about 10-20 min later and layed there for about 5-10 min about 2 weeks later I was a day late, then a week, then 3 weeks finally I got the nerve to take a home test and of course it was + whoohoo I was very happy but scared to even know if I had a baby girl I would never give her back, but inside I was longing for my little boy and I truely felt I had finally gotten him at 13 wks an u/s tech said she was pretty sure she saw boy parts but I of course thought no way it is way to early, then at 15 1/2 wks I was told def a boy and of course I didn't want to believe it for sure so now at 26 wks I had one more and she kept saying her so I asked is a girl and she looked and said no way it is A BOY so after giving me a heart attack lol she showed us his boy parts 3x and gave us a pic lol ssooo now at 27 weeks I have finally felt like I could buy blue... So don't give up because I felt deep down in my heart he was missing and after everyone thinking I was crazy for doing this all, I feel it helped me get my little man and wouldn't change it for the world... Good luck girls!!

I just wanted opinions/advise about what we might be having. My husband and I were together on days 5-11 of my cycle and on day 16. I used a vineger douche on days 10 and 11 before we were together. Of course we are hoping for a healthy baby but we were swaying for a girl. Any thoughts on what you think with the stategy we used? I probably ovulated on day 14. Thank you!
I'm due June 2010. What would your guess be? I'm just thinking that after ovulation sways for a boy!

we want a boy so bad this time. I am thinking about doing opk in addition to charting. But does it take the fun out of it?

Hi Escowood84,

I've read that girls get yeast infections from douching with baking soda. What do you think? Should I do it? What was your experience?

I'm ttc a boy in July.

Thanks
