I've noticed many people on here in the same boat as me . . . got my boys and hoping for a girl. I'm worried that girls are just harder to conceive. Everyone in my family has a girl, if they have one child, a boy and girl, if they only have two children, and two girls and a boy, if they have three children. I'm the only one with two boys! I just thought I'd have no problem getting a girl. So what are you trying for and are you an oddity in your family with the sex of your children?

Well i was adopted at 10 weeks old. My biological mother had 3 sisters. Thats all i really know. I dont know much about my natural father except he was a jocky so maybe he conceived a girl through wearing tight pants he he.
In my family its all boys. Im the only girl on my fathers side since my grandmother. On my mums side its all girls.
Oh and i would love a little girl!!!

I'd like another girl. We are only trying for a girl for 1 month, if I don't get pregnant, then we'll just BD whenever and be happy with whatever we get! DH has 3 brothers, and 6 nephews....only 2 nieces. I have 1 brother. The odds of us having a boy according to our genes was WAY greater than the odds of having a girl. I have no clue how we ended up with a girl, but I'm so glad we did! I'd be happy if she was my only girl (I wanted at least 1), but I'm hoping for another. We ultimately want 3 kids, so if I have all girls, I'll be happy. 2 girls and a boy, even better. 1 girl and 2 boys, sure! At least I have my 1 girl!

I dont think I know anyone who as more then one child that has all the same gender. I have 2 brothers and two sisters and hubby has the same two brothers and two sisters. My sisters both have girls and boys and hubs is the same. Hubby also has a daughter from a previous marriage so I'm not sure whats going on with us. I really dont think gender runs in the family.

Do you eat lots of foods from the boy diet?? Even if your not swaying either way if its 50/50 it could just be each time your just landing on the blue side of the dice. If you know what i mean.

I havent even looked at the boys diet..I guess I should. I eat a lot of fiber and fruits and veggies but hubby is super picky so dinner is almost always red meat. I know chicken is on the girls diet so I'm glad about that because I love chicken.

So I just checked out the boys diet and then did a search for acidic and alkaline foods and now I'm really mixed up.

Wow! I also just checked the boy's diet plan. Both times I got pg I had been dieting. I blamed the fact that I felt healthier and sexier and had more energy on the fact that we bd more often and that is why I got pg. I didn't realize that so much of the stuff I ate was on the boy's diet plan. I eat a lot of spinach salads and lots of veggies and fruits. We were also eating more red meat and low carb foods. I also drink v-8 juice and alot of green tea! Some of those foods overlap though! What am I supposed to eat . . . you can't survive on milk and cranberries. Also I drank milk with the boys and drink milk still . . . I love milk, so not sure if it really sways. But maybe it is just a combination of foods.

Yeah I eat pretty much the same way and have for a long time so I guess thats why I have all boys. Do a search on acidic food though because it says on all the lists I have looked up that chicken is alkaline and beef and fish are acidic. It also says that beer and wine and cola are acidic. I'm really not understanding this diet now.

Is the girl's diet supposed to be acidic or alkaline? I thought acidic. . . . I'm confused now too!

Hey ladies. The diet does not just take acidic or alkaline into consideration...and that's why it seems confusing. The diet also takes minerals (which can affect the egg) into consideration...as well as hormones. I.E. red meat tends to cause higher testosterone levels, which sway boy.

It's very confusing indeed. I have a food chart and some highly acid producing foods are a no-no according to the trying to conceive a girl diet.

As for my answer:

I have two boys and am swaying for a girl.

My husband is 1 of 5 (b, g,g,g,b)...he's the youngest. His father is 1 of 4 (b, b, g, g). His mother is 1 of 5 (g, b, g, g, b). Of his siblings (b) has no children. Of the sisters, one has 3 boys, one has a girl then two boys and one has a boy then a girl.

On my side I'm the middle one of 3 (g, g, b). My Mom is one of five (b, g, g, b stillborn, g). My father is 1 of 4 (b, b, g...then b 14 years later). My Mom's brother had (b, b, g). Oldest sister (g, b). Middle sister (g). My grandma was one of 5 (b,b,g,g,b) and my papa was one of 5 (b,b,b,g,b). My father's brother (b,b,g). Sister (g), baby brother (g, b,b).

My sister has (b, b/gtwins, b). My brother has no children.

So, it's pretty mixed. I know my grandma and my Mom are big milk/cheese people...maybe that's why they had more girls.

I think rice and pasta are neutral. Rice cakes, cheese although check the salt, yoghurts, creamy home made sauces, no salt butter, eggs poached, scrambled egg, omlette, poached white fish, leeks, green beans, cucumber, lettuce(not iceburg),rice noodles, white bread (check the sodium), berrys ie strawberries, raspberries, cranberrys and blueberrys, plums, cherries.
drinks cranberry, crystal light, peppermint tea, milk, evian bottled water
Avoid potatoes, red meat, jarred sauces (too much salt).

Michelle, I hadn't realized lettuce (non-iceburg) was on the girl list. I don't know how I overlooked that because I've been dying wihtout my salads. I'm so excited to read that.

I want a girl so bad after having 3 boys! My hubby told me when we were expecting number one that he only made girls and I would love to make a liar out of him. We tried to sway for a girl with our 8 month old but he turned out to be a boy too. So when we start ttc for our last in a couple months we are going to try swaying for a girl one last time as 4 is the limit for us.

I didn't try to conceive a specific gender (Wel..I didn't try to conveive either way!)
but I was hoping for a boy. I got a girl! LOL
My family though, is definately a girl family.
My grandmother is one of,I believe, 5 sisters. My grandfather has a sister.
My mom has three girls, my aunt has two girls and a boy.
My father has four girls (my parents are not together and I'm their only child)
My father's mother has three girls and a boy. and I believe she has a sister (no brothers)
My daughter's father has a sister and two brothers, but I guess my family's girls outweighed that!

But I'm a big fan of most everything on the boy diet, so I personally don't think my diet did much to help determine her gender. LOL

I want a girl...DH side is all boys. My side is all boys with one girl as the exception which is mine from a previous marriage. DH has made 2 boys and we want a girl...chances are slim because boys run on both sides. I hope to get a girl. After we do conceive, I will do one of those gender tests sold at CVS. My friend just did one and it says she is having a boy.

There are other things that sway as well as the diet. If you smoke it gives a high chance if a girl, swimming in the sea or chlorinated water, the season you concieve in and the moon(this effects ions and the polarity of the egg), supplements, position and when you bd. Also yyou have to take into account your natural ph. Some women have an acidic ph naturally.
