First of all, I really wish I could show you a picture, but the u/s tech didn't give me ANY pictures between her legs. Just her face and profile view.
Anyway, I went in for my 20 week u/s to find out the gender. When the tech got the baby in the right position, she told us that she was showing us between her legs. Now, I am 20 years old and this is my first baby, and I still can't really understand what she is seeing on the u/s screen. Anyway, she did get between the legs fairly easily and said it was a girl. I asked her how accurate these things usually are and she said 99%, however she never explained HOW she knew it was a girl, and I haven't seen my doctor yet.
The whole first and most of the second trimester I had a gut feeling I was having a girl. Right before we found out my boyfriend and I started doing the little wives tales and online predictions, and they all said boy. Then the Chinese Gender Chart said boy. So when she said girl I didn't know what to think. I know I should trust her, but I'm so nervous now.
I think at 20 weeks it can be very obvious to the tech, what sex the baby is. I mean there are occasion times they get it wrong, but i think at this stage you would see really obvious boy parts if it was a boy. The old wives tales dont have any scientific basis and the chinses gender chart i think is a guess.
Thank you cavewoman for my beautiful siggy!!! [/url]
I agree that the techs usually get it right, espeically at 20 weeks. I say go with it and buy some pink for your little sweetheart. Congrats!
