Hey everyone!
I thought I'd share my experience here.
I am currently pregnant with my first child. This pregnancy was a bit of a surprise (we weren't TTC...but not really strictly preventing either). I was charting and preventing on my fertile days. My cycles were pretty regular, and I normally ovulated around CD 19.
We DTD on CD 9 unprotected, thinking we were in the clear. For some reason that month, I ovulated early, on CD 14 (rather than 19). We still thought we were in the clear though, as I that was 5 days after we DTD.
Wasn't I surprised when I found out that I was pregnant from that cycle!
So, given our timing, it would be more likely that we're expecting a girl. The interesting thing with our case however, is that Dan's family seems to not produce girls. There has not been a girl in that family in more generations than anyone can remember. Everyone in the family is totally sure that I will have a boy.
SO, in 9 days, we have our gender u/s to find out!
I think it will be really neat to see if our timing "beat the odds" or if the boys will win this race. Either way, we'll be happy!
I will make sure I update you all to see where this goes!

Well, we had our ultrasound today and baby is a.....
Turkey!! Little stinker would not show the goods! It was so frustrating, even the tech was trying all sorts of things to get the bugger to uncross his/her legs, but alas, no luck!
It was funny because in the beginning, she was like, "well, I don't see anything" kind of hinting more towards a girl.. but then when she tried one last peek before ending the u/s she thought she saw something...but was still really unsure.
So we really don't have any good idea at all!
Luckily though, I scheduled a 3D u/s as a back-up for this Friday. I really didn't want to have to go this route, but we'll try again in two days!

That's what happened to us with DD1 lol! We were avoiding fertile times, DTD on CD10, ovulated on CD15 and surprise, our first daughter was here!
For our second we were NTNP and so were DTD all month and got a girl again.
I think we might try DTD on the day after ovulation for a month or two next time and see what happens.
