Hey everyone! My name is Tanya- I spent a lot of time here when I was WTTC my son Gavin who is now 3, but now we are starting TTC for our second. I would really like to sway girl- so here's my question- according to my period tracker on my phone, I'm due to O this month on July 19th- if I were to TTC a girl- which day/days should we BD? Also I'm wondering if we do BD only on say day 5, 4, and/or 3 is that lowering my chances to even get pregnant this month? Thanks in advance!

Ha! My name is Tanya to!! I am also TTC and trying to sway for a girl!! My husband and I have 4 boys already Robert (18), he is mine from a previous relationship, Tim(14), Taylor(12) and Thomas Hunter (10). Those 3 are my husband's from his first marriage. In Jan. we had his vasectomy reversed and could actually start trying in Feb.

From what I've read, and I've read alot , if you should O around the 19th, then you should BD about 3 days before that. Female sperm are stronger than male, which means they live longer, but male sperm swim faster than female. So, the concept is, if you BD about 2 to 3 days before O then by the time you O all the male sperm (should have) died off and there should be nothing but female sperm left! If I can find the link to some of the stuff that I've read, I will post it here for you.

Hi Tanya! Thanks! Do you think we should BD Friday (15th), Saturday (16th), AND Sunday (17th)? Or maybe cut off Sunday bc it would be too close to Tuesday? Lol I get the concept but I just want to make sure my timing is right.... And being if I O on Tuesday (19th), would it make any difference or be ok rather to BD the following weekend? Lol I kinda don't want my DH to know I'm going this crazy about the timing to sway gender- he doesn't care either way but I know this is my second and last child and will be really disappointed to never have a girl!!

You can BD on the 15th,16th, & 17th...I don't think it would hurt. If you were to on like the 18th or th 19th, then that would be different. My DH KNOWS I'm obsessing about the girl thing!! LOL I'm constantly reading him stuff and steady looking up stuff! Let me know how it works out over the next few weeks!! Email me if you want ttart3@gmail.com

Not bding every moment of fertility will indeed lesson your chances of getting pregnant so if your real goal is to get pg then do it up to, through and after you O. However if you have time and are relaxed about it and really want a girl then you really need to know when you are going to O. If you do, once you do then up and through 2-3 days before you O would be good. You up your chances of a girl considerably but never a guarantee!!!

i know they say to BD at least 3 or more days prior to ovulation for swaying girl. and NO BD on the days too close to ovulation and ovulation day! but when i ttc'ed Victoria we just BD every day pretty much from the time AF was over till the "end" of my cycle. and we got a girl

Its now been proven that Y sperm live just as long as X sperm. which is why so many women were getting pregnant with boys with even a 4 day cutoff.
Best timing would be to have your DH abstain for 7 days before your due to ovulate then BD on ovulation. this has been more successful then a 3 days cut off. having your DH abstain for 7 days or BD daily will lower his count and raise your chance for a girl.

I am also trying for a girl this month. I am not charting really, just going by some period/ovulation calendars. I am nervous I am going to BD to early to get PG, or too late and get another boy hehe.

and i thought 3 boys was crazy!!! j/k i have i am 3 anyhoo and just found out pregnant on sat. i ovulated on 7/17 and had sex on 7/14 and 7/15. (i was trying to calculate for a girl!!) im excited and hope it worked. good luck to all trying for their princess!!

Hi all, I had 2 boys before conceived my little girl. I didn't want to leave it to chance so I charted my cycles for a few months, established a pattern and worked out my girl dates. The key is CHARTING your cycle!!!! Safest method ever.
