I think timing only can be a bit hit and miss. However 3 of my boys were conceived either day of or day before ovulation, not sure about my first. Im starting to think that the amount of times you dtd really effects what gender the baby is and also position you dtd in .

I really think timing is the most important factor. I DTD 5 days in a row, and we cut off 1-2 days before I ovulated and we conceived a girl. I know many couples who DTD the day of ovulation or "once that month" and conceived a boy. I believe the more you have sex especially 10 days prior to ovulation you are more likely to have a daughter. And having sex closest to ovulation, within 24hours (without having sex any previous days, *this is an important) you'll have a boy. But nothing is 100%....but I do think it helps sway the gender you want. Goodluck, hope you get your little princess!!!

Is this really true? I sometimes experience some irregular menstruation (been like this since highschool), so I think it won't work for me, the same way as calendar-based contraceptions won't work on ladies with irregular periods. If there's any other way to sway the gender then I'm all ears!

To do JUST TIMING and succeed, you have to keep track of your periods until you see a pattern. It requires patience but thats what i did and knew my month of conceiving my girl was coming up. I charted my cycle for 8 months and then conceived 2 months after trying.

Congrats on the girl Mamabear! So did you do the cutoff 4 days before?? I've been ttc for 3 months now strictly trying for 2 though dtd right up to ovulation but I'm gonna try for my girl and do a cutoff day from now on.. So I was thinking 2 days or is that too close to O?
What is the big O? What does that mean?

Sorry im usually in my april ddc forum...
I did the cut off 3 days before ovulation and no big o.
AND NO I DIDNT DTD A LOT BEFORE I SWAYED OR DURING THIS TIME. IT WAS ACTUALLY JUST 2 DAYS IN A ROW THEN NO MORE TILL 3-4 DAYS AFTER OVULATION.

Oh duh... lol I remember learning that before now but I had just forgotten.. I never do the big o when its close to ovulation cuz I read you aren't supposed to. So I took an OPK and it was negative but I want to at least do 3 days cutoff since I've not gotten pregnant yet and I'm afraid I'm gonna do it too early and miss O all together. What do you all think? I'm supposed to O Sat.
