So, the doctor gave me provera to start my period and clomid to take cycle day 5-9 whenever that is after I get a period and said I can start them when I am ready. My question is, when I should start them?

We are going away as a family with extended family included to Mexico for 2 weeks in December which is the month I wanted to try. In a way, I think it would be good to aim to try and ovulate when we are away (I can't pinpoint it anyways since I don't know how the medications will work on me). But I am a little nervous because I don't know how much I will be able to stick to the girl diet since we will be in another country and on vacation with family. What do you all think?? we are going away in may and if i ov in first couple of days i will try but if not i'm gonna leave it cause i don't want to ruin my holiday by not being able to eat the foods i love.

how many cycles of clomid will you have hun? if you use one for dec cycle and then can't dtd that cycle cause you aren't following the girl diet you have wasted one cycle.

do you think you could keep to a low fat version of the diet which isn't so restrictive that way you wouldn't need to miss jan cycle either?

thanks for your reply! it has 6 refills so i guess it doesn't matter. I eat pretty lowfat anyways. what do you eat?? what is your typical girl diet?

i am worried i won't get greek yogurt and low sodium cheese, mostly the low sodium stuff i guess. i wonder if i can travel with some food??

Amari I am so glad the doctor finally got you the meds to start af. Now are you taking in it right away? How long does it take to work? Depending on that, it may be better to skip the vacation cycle or try right away before you even go.
In my opinion, a vacation should be a relaxing time to enjoy with family. Bringing food and worrying about what and where to find girl foods is too much stress for a vacation. But if your trip details are all in place, you could start trying right away before you even get to Mexico. Depends on when you get af. Star taking the af med. right away to at least begin a new cycle. Today is only the 9th!

^^I agree. If it was me, I would skip this cycle until I was home from vacation (and holidays are over). Better chance with the diet that way. Good luck!

i wouldn't take food with you hun i just go for low fat everything but i agree with the others enjoy your hols and ttc when you get back. remeber you need 6 weeks on diet before ttc though
